After graduating from Tsinghua University, he studied at the Virginia Military Academy in the United States, entered Burma twice during the War of Resistance Against Japan, led the new army of one of the "five elites of the Kuomintang" to sweep through Burma, and became one of the generals who annihilated the most enemies during the War of Resistance Against Japan.
