British media: European electric vehicle sales exceeded diesel vehicles for the first time

The British "Financial Times" reported on the 17th that European electric vehicle sales exceeded diesel vehicles for the first time in December last year. In the month, more than 20 percent of new cars sold in 18 European markets, including the UK, were pure electric vehicles. Diesel vehicles, including hybrids, accounted for less than 19% of sales in the month. The steady increase in sales of electric vehicles in Europe is mainly due to the large subsidies in European countries such as Germany and the introduction of strict regulations in 2020 to force European Union automakers to sell more low-emission cars.
