Why did Qianlong become the longest-lived emperor in history? Just look at his habits

As we all know, in ancient times, people's life expectancy was relatively short, and the life expectancy of people in each period was different. According to Lin Wanxiao's article "Average Life Expectancy and Life Expectancy of Mainland Generations" in the 5th issue of "Life and Disaster" in 1996, the average life expectancy was 18 to 20 years in the Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties on the mainland; 27 years in the Tang Dynasty; 30 years in the Song Dynasty; and 33 years in the Qing Dynasty.

After the founding of New China, according to the survey, the average life expectancy of the people on the mainland was as high as 57 years in 1957, and 68.97 years in 1985.

From this set of data in ancient times alone, the life expectancy of the ancients was not long, and the overall life expectancy was not even 40 years old.

Of course, the reason why the average life expectancy of the ancients was so short was multiple, such as war, medical and health conditions, food shortages, and so on.

But then again, although the average life expectancy of the ancients was very low, there were always a few who lived to be eighty or ninety years old, such as the Qianlong Emperor we are familiar with, who lived to the age of 89. So, how did the Qianlong Emperor do it? Does he have any secrets?

In fact, on this point, we only need to look at his living habits to know!

Why did Qianlong become the longest-lived emperor in history? Just look at his habits

First, good eating habits

According to the records in historical materials such as the Records of Emperor Gaozong of the Qing Dynasty and the Notes on the Living of Qianlong, from 5:30 to 6:00 in the morning, it is the time for Qianlong to eat breakfast; then it is the time to go to the early dynasty and handle government affairs; and from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m., it is the time to eat dinner.

Yes, you read that right, it's dinner! In addition to the morning and evening meals, there are also time for wine and snacks in between.

However, it should be noted here that in addition to major festivals, the emperor generally eats only himself. As for the food in the meal, from the record in the "Bottom File", Qianlong prefers to eat meat, beef and chicken are essential things every day, and seafood is basically not eaten!

In addition, Qianlong did not eat much food at each meal, but he liked to drink water very much, and unlike other emperors, Qianlong did not like to drink.

Of course, from the simple introduction here, it seems that there is nothing strange, but it also shows that Qianlong eats regularly and does not overeat. In addition, the court's cooking materials are relatively fine, so Qianlong rarely gets sick throughout his life. This also allowed him to live a long life.

Second, the rules of work and rest, private life is not indulged

In the impression of most of us, the emperor has always been "three palaces, six courts, seventy-two concubines", of course, Qianlong as the emperor who actually reigned the longest, there are also many concubines in the harem, so many people say that Qianlong is a "merry son of heaven".

But in fact, this is not the case, Qianlong is actually not at all windy, always just stop. In history, there are many examples of emperors indulging in female color and causing the demise of the country, but Qianlong did not, but also laid the map of the Qing Empire.

If Qianlong really was a mercurial and undisciplined emperor, would he have achieved such an achievement? I guess not!

Third, love to travel, relax your mind

Of course, saying that the Qianlong Emperor likes to travel, this is a bit ironic, such as the familiar "Six Lower Jiangnan", although every time is a move to work hard and hurt the people, but from the perspective of longevity, such a combination of work and leisure is also a way to maintain health. It's just that this way is not very desirable!

In general, the reason why the Qianlong Emperor was able to live a long life was mainly because of his good living habits. In fact, this is not only Qianlong, but also for each of us, developing a good living habit is the best secret of our longevity!
