So who is this former Kuomintang elder?
He was Li Jishen, vice chairman of the Central People's Government of the People's Republic of China, who was an extremely famous figure in modern times, a veteran figure of the Kuomintang, and a general of the Kuomintang army.
Born in Cangwu, Guangxi in 1885, Li Jishen went to the Army University to study in the early years, but it was also at this time that Li Jishen began to follow The Father of the Republic of China, Dr. Sun Yat-sen, and Sun Yat-sen attached great importance to Li Jishen, appointing him as the commander of the First Division and chief of staff of the First Division of the First Army of the Guangdong Army, during which he also trained many outstanding young officers.
Later, Sun Yat-sen died of illness, Li Jishen followed Chiang Kai-shek, and not long after, the "April 12 Qing Party" began, and it was because of this matter that Li Jishen could be said to have regretted it for life
At that time, Chiang Kai-shek summoned many important people of the National Government to a meeting, the purpose was to clean up the party, and at that time Li Jishen actually agreed with the Qing party, and then began to study how to accomplish this task, but what he did not expect was that although Li Jishen had the idea of cleaning up the party, he did not approve of the policy of carrying out massacres, but the fact was that Li Jishen's subordinates were doing their best to carry out massacres.
The contradiction between Li Jishen and Chiang Kai-shek is very large, and he was expelled from the party by Chiang Kai-shek three times.
In 1932, Li Jishen organized the "Anti-Japanese Soldiers' Federation" in order to oppose Chiang Kai-shek, and as a result, he was expelled from the party by Chiang Kai-shek, but he was restored after the 918 Incident, after all, Li Jishen's status in the Kuomintang was very high, and he could not easily offend him unless he had to.
During the Xi'an Incident, Li Jishen at that time also found Chiang Kai-shek many times and demanded that he immediately resist Japan, otherwise he would continue to oppose Chiang Kai-shek.
After General Ye Ting was detained, Li Jishen also gave his part, and at that time, he called Chen Cheng, and he must ensure that Ye Ting was safe and absolutely could not hurt him.
Li Jishen's third expulsion from the party was in 1947, when Chiang Kai-shek was "permanently expelled from the party" for the third time on charges of "betrayal of the party-state."
Since then, Li Jishen has formally broken with Chiang Kai-shek, and the following year he was invited by the great leader Chairman Mao to participate in the discussion of the great cause of building the country.
In October 1959, Li Jishen died of illness in Beijing at the age of 74. And Li Jishen's children were actually very good in the future, of which his son Li Peiyao was a high-ranking official at the vice-state level, which was a regrettable ending!
