Regarding Yongzheng, compared with Kangxi and Qianlong, people know much less about him, and even about the cause of the yongzheng Emperor's death, there are still many opinions, how did Yongzheng die? Although there are relevant records in the Records of emperor Qing Shizong, they are not detailed, which also arouses people's speculation. According to the records, Yongzheng was unwell on August 20, 1735, but it was not taken seriously at that time, and Yongzheng was also as normal as usual in the early dynasty, dealing with various political affairs, and no special situations occurred. The next day, the Yongzheng Emperor's body was suddenly unable to support it, although he was still conscious, but his physical condition was not optimistic.
On August 22, the Yongzheng Emperor summoned a group of ministers, called out to the princes, confessed his last words, and then sure enough, the Yongzheng Emperor died in the early morning of the 23rd, why can a healthy person suddenly die in just a few days? There is no accurate record in the historical records.
There is a saying in this regard in the folk, that the Yongzheng Emperor was not actually infected with a disease, but was assassinated by assassins, and there are rumors that when archaeologists inspected the Tailing, they found that the bones in the coffin of the Yongzheng Emperor only had a body without a skull, and it was the assassin Lü Siniang who cut off Yongzheng's head. This assassin Lü Siniang was rumored to be the fish that slipped through the net in Lü Liuliang's case, and Lü Siniang was destroyed, and Lü Siniang escaped by chance, and learned a good light skill, assassinating Yongzheng to avenge. Of course, this statement is divorced from the actual basis, more like folklore, because Yongzheng's coffin has not been opened, and there is no evidence of the existence of Lü Siniang.
Another speculation is that the Yongzheng Emperor actually died of heavy metal poisoning, the Yongzheng Emperor was obsessed with monasticism, the status of the Daoist priests at that time was very high, the Yongzheng Emperor was obsessed with pursuing the art of immortality that many emperors in history dreamed of, he often let the Daoists practice Dan, and he would also take a large amount of Dan medicine, and at that time, the Taoist priests would add mercury, that is, mercury, which would cause great harm to the human body when refining Dan, and in the Qianlong years, these Daoist monks were all driven away by Qianlong, which also proved that Qianlong realized the harm of these Dan medicines.
