Gyro Technology, January 14, recently, the Communication University of China announced that the virtual Zhongchuan Campus created by its School of Animation and Digital Arts was officially unveiled on the Baidu Xiyuan Meta-universe platform and opened to the public for experience.
It is reported that the virtual Zhongchuan campus is the first "virtual university" in China to be opened on the meta-universe platform. With the help of digital technologies such as street view maps, 3D reconstruction, and 3D engines, the virtual zhongchuan campus vividly reproduces the entire campus buildings, public facilities and their proportion relationships, and accurately realizes the construction of the digital twin campus.

Not only that, the virtual campus also uses the narrative and interactivity of digital media art to lay many Easter eggs closely related to the campus characteristic culture and campus emotional memory. Experiencers can freely access the Greek platform through VR, mobile or PC, and start a roaming journey of the future campus with a virtual avatar.
The Virtual Campus was designed and produced by Professor Lu Xin of the School of Animation and Digital Arts and the teachers and students of the Virtual Entertainment Lab led by him over a period of three months. The team's work involves campus geographic surveying and mapping sampling, digital modeling, interaction design, technology development and other interdisciplinary content, and is deeply involved in the testing and optimization of the twin campus landing Baidu Xilang platform.
