Without cryptocurrency, NFTs can be bought on this vending machine

Web3 and NFT, which are undoubtedly the world's hottest in recent years, especially in the code world, have been involved in digital art and collection, attracting more and more people to participate. But for many more people, these two words are just concepts that are far away from real life.

Although the digital collectibles market is currently booming, with sales even as high as $41 billion at one point, at present, like Open Sea, many NFT trading platforms need to be settled with cryptocurrencies, and it is always impossible to get involved in NFTs, so many people's ideas of trying this new thing have been stranded.

To make NFT more accessible to more people, Neon, an NFT platform based on the Solana blockchain, set up the world's first NFT vending machine at 29 John Street near Wall Street in New York City, open 24 hours a day.

After selecting the NFT they want to purchase on the vending machine, the customer can pay with a Mastercard credit card, Visa, Samsung Pay or Apple Pay, and then the machine will distribute a box with a QR code, which can be scanned to redeem their NFT on the Neon platform.

Unlike other NFT transactions, cryptocurrency is not required on this NFT vending machine and can be settled using a U.S. dollar credit and debit card. And customers can only choose to buy Party Pigeons or Project Color (the machine is currently only available in these two series), but do not know which one.

Jordan Birnholtz, co-founder of Neon, said that the reason for setting up such a vending machine that can buy NFTs without the need for cryptocurrencies is to "demystify" the process of buying NFTs, and there is no easier way to buy than vending machines.

Birnholtz mentioned: "Giving people the option to decouple cryptocurrencies from participating in NFTs using vending machines and a simple online platform means we can reach as many audiences as possible." Buying and selling NFTs doesn't need to be a mystery, and you shouldn't be asked to hold Ethereum, write smart contracts, pay gas fees, or bridge blockchains to participate."

Birnholtz also mentioned: "We want to empower creators and digital artists whose work is often undervalued because these are not tangible in the traditional sense. We make it easier to sell digital art than physical art. If creators want to make NFTs based on their existing content or new material, we want them to do it on Neon."

Studies have shown that while 16% of Americans own cryptocurrencies, nearly 80% of Americans have a credit or debit card. Neon's NFT vending machines don't require cryptocurrencies, meaning that most of these people who don't hold cryptocurrencies can also have their own NFTs, and the potential customers and prospects are considerable.

Without bothering to learn about cryptocurrencies, you can buy your own NFTs like a bottle of water, and Neon's vending machines make NFTs no longer just a concept in many people's lives. In addition, Neon plans to include cryptocurrency as a payment method later.
