Apple VR headsets may be postponed to next year's release

Whiplash January 15 news, Apple is reportedly weighing whether to postpone the first release of its virtual reality (VR) headset until the end of 2022 or later.

Although Apple has never publicly confirmed the development of the headset, investors and analysts are increasingly convinced that such a device will become an important new product category for the tech giant. Apple reportedly has a large team called the "Technology Development Group" working on this headset.

Apple had previously planned to launch the product at the 2022 developer conference, but may have delayed the release due to overheating, camera and software challenges.

Delaying releases could reduce enthusiasm for metaverse. Industry analysts expect Apple-related product launches to provide a boost of energy to the industry.

The headset is expected to provide a virtual reality experience with a high-resolution screen. Some reports suggest that it could cost more than $1,000, much higher than VR devices currently on the market, such as the $299 Meta Quest. Apple's VR headset will reportedly focus on communication tools and media consumption.

Apple told suppliers that the product could sell up to 10 million units in its first year of release. Apple representatives declined to comment.
