The Northern Expedition of the Kaixi Dynasty, which conformed to the hearts of the people, resulted in the loss of the head of a prime minister plus 3 million taels of silver

Han Nong's launch of the Kaixi Northern Expedition failed, was killed by the opposition, and his head was sent to the Jin Dynasty. Neither the Song nor the Jin could help anyone, so let's wait for the Mongols to come to an end.

Hello friends, I am Wang Qingbin

Welcome to my album, a clear account of colorful history.

After Han Nongxin firmly controlled the power of the Southern Song Court, he wanted to go north.

Han Nongxin was a foreign relative and a powerful minister, and the evaluation of foreign relatives and powerful ministers in history was not very good, like Huo Guang and Wang Mang. However, Han Nongxin was also a descendant of Han Qi, a famous minister of the Northern Song Dynasty, and was a scholar-doctor class, and there was a pursuit in his bones.

Ancient scholars and doctors paid great attention to the "three stands", that is, morality, speech, and merit. Virtue is to become a person of high moral character through self-cultivation; to make a statement is to be able to pass on one's own ideological system to the world; to make meritorious contributions is to establish meritorious deeds. Lide is relatively virtual, and making a statement requires a fairly solid theoretical foundation and ideological foundation, and the meritorious service is relatively direct.

Therefore, for Han Nongxin, it was understandable that he wanted to establish the work of the Northern Expedition.

In addition, he has grasped the supreme power through a series of less honorable means, and his personal prestige is not high, and his heart is also a bit empty. If the Northern Expedition was successful, it would certainly have an immeasurable effect on maintaining personal power and status, at least to silence the Taoists who opposed him.

The Northern Expedition of the Kaixi Dynasty, which conformed to the hearts of the people, resulted in the loss of the head of a prime minister plus 3 million taels of silver

On the side of the Jin Dynasty, Jin Shizong died and Jin Zhangzong took the throne, and has experienced a period of social stability and economic development for a considerable period of time, and the history says that "the rule of peace has been long, and the Uchi is well-off", but the information obtained by the Song Dynasty is that the political situation of the Jin State is chaotic, because the northern frontier problem has caused fatigue in the troops and the government treasury is empty, which is a good time for the Northern Expedition.

This once again confirmed the thesis that "people are always willing to believe what they are willing to believe", coupled with Han Nongxin's determination to touch the sensitive national complex, won considerable social support, including the famous literati Lu You, Xin Zhiyi, and the spirit of the Northern Expedition was greatly uplifted.

The actual situation of the Jin Dynasty was neither as good as the history books said, nor as bad as Han Nongxin thought. On the southern Song Dynasty side, the long-term political power struggle inevitably also affected the army, and the generals also took the back door and pulled the relationship up, usually full of mouths as if they would order something, the problem was that the bull was blowing too much, and they really thought they would order something.

For the sake of the Northern Expedition, Han Nongxu grasped the military, political, and financial powers in his hands, and later some people said that he wanted to usurp power in this way, and the "History of Song" also included him in the "Biography of traitors". In fact, this is not fair, Song Ningzong has always had no opinion, obedient to him, although Han Nongxu likes to seize power, but has no intention of usurping the throne, objectively speaking, he is a powerful minister, but not a traitor.

The Northern Expedition, which was full of political speculation and military adventures, began around 1205 AD, in the first year of the Kai Jubilee, in the form of small-scale military frictions created by the Southern Song Dynasty on the border.

In the second year, the Kaixi Northern Expedition began in full swing.

However, before the Southern Song Dynasty frequently provoked in the border area, coupled with the Fact that the Northern Expedition began to launch a tentative attack on Sizhou (Si County, Anhui), which made the Jin State already prepared, so the Southern Song Northern Expedition attacked Suzhou, Shouzhou, Tangzhou, and Caizhou respectively, and the 4-way army was defeated and collapsed, and what was even more unexpected was that Wu Xi of the Northwest Front army also defected.

Wu Xi was the grandson of wu Xuan, a famous anti-Jin general at that time. The heroic deeds of the Brothers Wu Jie and Wu Xuan who bravely resisted Jin deeply impressed the soldiers and civilians of Sichuan and Shu, so their Wu family had a strong appeal in Sichuan and Shu. This situation caused uneasiness in the imperial court, and Wu Xi was once transferred to the imperial court to prevent his father from supporting the army and respecting himself, and Wu Xi was of course quite dissatisfied.

Later, Wu Xi bribed up and down, and finally returned to the northwest to continue to command the Wu family army, just when Han Nongxin wanted the Northern Expedition to find a commander on the western front, he appointed him as the deputy commander of the Northwest Front, but in fact he did not want to fight for the imperial court.

Wu Xi mistakenly regarded the reverence of the northwestern soldiers and civilians for their Generational Anti-Jin Spirit of the Wu Family as a support for their Wu family's ancestors and grandchildren, and he secretly contacted the Jin people, saying that as long as the Jin people made him the King of Shu, he was willing to surrender the territory of the four prefectures of Gansu and Shaanxi. Of course, Jin Zhangzong couldn't ask for it, and he agreed with a full mouth.

After the Northern Expedition began, Wu Xi found various reasons to stay still, and later he drove away the commander of the Northwest Army and officially became the King of Shu in the Jin Kingdom.

Wu Xi's blatant rebellion disappointed the Northwest Army, and everyone was deeply proud of the glorious tradition of this army in resisting Jin, not his commander surnamed Wu, and some people with a great sense of justice secretly planned to overthrow Wu Xi.

These people claimed to have obeyed the secret edict and led a death squad into the palace of the puppet Shu king, Wu Xi's guards simply gave up resistance, and Wu Xi was killed and killed, only 41 days after he became the king of Shu.

After that, the Northwest Army took the opportunity to retake the land ceded by Wu Xi, and the situation in the northwest stabilized. At this time, the Jinguo 9th Route Army counterattacked the southern invasion, but in fact, it could not defeat the Southern Song Dynasty, and han nongxu, who was in chaos, lost his position and immediately sought peace with the Jin people.

Who knew that the Jinguo people and lions opened their mouths widely, not only demanding indemnities for cutting off the land and increasing the number of coins, but also betraying the mastermind of the Northern Expedition, that is, the head of Han Nongxu.

Such conditions made Han Nongxu angry, the negotiations broke down, and he was ready to go to war with the Jin people again.

But now that Han Nongxu was no longer what he had done before, the Empress Han he relied on had passed away, and the current Empress Yang had a conflict with him, so he took the opportunity to instruct people to tell Song Ningzong that if he raised a military campaign again, it would endanger sheji. Song Ningzong's ears were soft, and he couldn't stop them from muttering, and decided to get rid of Han Nongxin, who was too powerful.

They found the ambitious Rebbe Attendant Shi Miyuan, who led an ambush on the road that Han Nongxu had to pass through, and Han Nongxin was killed by them with a hammer, and a generation of powerful ministers were ordered to go to Huangquan.

The reason why these coup d'état elements had to kill Han Nongxin was that they wanted to use his head as a bargaining chip to negotiate peace with Kim. Later, although many people thought that sending the head of the prime minister of a country to the enemy country was an insult to the state, they did so. In the capital, Jin Zhangzong hung Han Nongxin's head high on a flagpole and held a grand celebration ceremony.

In September 1208, the two sides reached an agreement and peace terms: the Southern Song Dynasty changed the title of the Jin Kingdom from uncle to uncle, and gave the Jin Kingdom a one-time silver of 3 million taels, and the number of coins increased from 200,000 to 300,000, and the Jin Kingdom returned the land of Huainan in the Southern Song Dynasty.

Although from the perspective of national feelings, the Kaixi Northern Expedition was in line with the people's hearts and had a social foundation, it neither restored the will of the homeland nor made sufficient preparations for war. However, from the deep-seated reasons, the Jin Dynasty has already digested the occupied Central Plains region, and has formed a political and geographical confrontation with the Southern Song Dynasty.

Over the years, from the southern invasion of Yan Liang, to the Longxing Northern Expedition, to the Kaixi Northern Expedition, although the outcome of each war has an accidental factor, no one can eat anyone, which profoundly shows that the confrontation between Shaoxing and song and Jin after the discussion is a stable geopolitical product.

After that, the Southern Song Dynasty and the Jin Dynasty lived their own lives in this helpless state, like two dilapidated chariots, no longer having the motivation to collide passionately with each other, and seemed to be waiting for the future terminator to slowly grow and become stronger, and finally to end their lingering lives.

Well, friends, we will talk about the content of this issue here.
