Yang Jingyu. His original name was Ma Shangde, and the character Ji Sheng. Born on February 13, 1905, a native of Qishan, Henan. He joined the Communist Party of China in June 1927 and served as secretary of the Harbin Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, acting secretary of the Manchurian Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, commander and political commissar of the First Army of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Coalition Army, and commander-in-chief and political commissar of the First Route Army. He died on February 23, 1940 in Mengjiang County (present-day Jingyu County, Jilin Province) at the age of 35.

Yang Jingyu was arrested three times when he was engaged in revolutionary struggle in Henan, and he had rich experience in fighting the enemy in court, and he had already made up a confession in his heart.

In the days that followed, Yang Jingyu was repeatedly subjected to torture such as whipping, sitting on a tiger stool, pouring cold water, irrigating horse urine, hanging on a large wall, and soldering iron. His nose and lungs were filled with cold water and it was difficult to breathe... After being tortured for five or six days and nights, the Japanese threw Yang Jingyu, who was no longer able to bear the punishment, into the cold reservoir.
The scarred Yang Jingyu was already in pain in the waist-deep water prison. In order to torture him, the Japanese also deliberately installed a large light bulb in the water cell to attract mosquitoes.
In this way, Yang Jingyu endured the pain of cold water stimulating the wound. On the one hand, you also have to deal with mosquitoes. Swarms of mosquitoes bit his face red and swollen, and he was miserable. Since there was no water to drink, Yang Jingyu was so thirsty that he could only drink the dirty water in the water prison, and he also suffered from dysentery.
By the time Yang Jingyu was thrown back into the cell, he was already dying. Some inmates later recalled that the Japanese did not see Yang Jingyu for a doctor at that time. Soaking in the water cell made his wounds infected, and the decay caused him to have a high fever and his life was in danger. But this did not shake his will in the slightest.
On September 28, 1929, the Japanese Police Department extradited Yang Jingyu, the "leader of the Communist Party," to the Fushun Public Security Bureau in China on the charge of "disturbing the public order of Fushun and propagating communism in the hope of major changes in China," and demanded that "serious conscription be punished and the results of the punishment be overturned."
February 6, 1930. The Liaoning Provincial High Court sentenced Zhang Guanyi (Yang Jingyu) to 1 year and 6 months in prison for "counter-revolutionary suspicion" and imprisonment in Fengtian First Prison in Liaoning Province (Fengtian).
