After the founding of New China, we defeated the US military twice in foreign battlefields. The first was the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea for nearly three years, and the second was the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Vietnam for nearly two decades. On the Battlefield of Vietnam, China provided various assistance such as equipment and materials, but unexpectedly, after the end of the war, Vietnam directly turned its face to us until the final military confrontation. How much have we actually helped Vietnam? Why do they end up turning their faces and not recognizing people? Let's move on.
At that time, the new China had just been founded, and Vietnam was in the midst of a war with France, and we certainly did not choose to stand idly by. In the final stage of the counteroffensive, the commander sent General Chen Geng and others to the battlefield to provide assistance, and provided a large amount of equipment and material assistance. In the counter-offensive phase of Vietnam's resistance to the French, New China was the only country to provide assistance to Vietnam, and ultimately helped them win the final victory. However, only a year later, the United States began to repeat the mistakes of the Korean War and began to make some small moves in Vietnam. In order to break the U.S. conspiracy, the chiefs once again decided to provide aid to Vietnam.

In 1956, our army successfully copied various firearms such as the Five-Six-Punch. In the absence of equipment, the troops and fighters were not yet equipped, they assisted more than 50,000 North Vietnamese troops, and also helped them form mechanized troops, including strategic tactics. From 1950 to 1978, China's aid to Vietnam was worth a total of $20.3 billion, more than 90 percent of the total for non-reimbursable aid alone, and others were low- or even interest-free loans with no strings attached. We also promised them 450 construction projects, and by 1978, 339 had been completed, and more than 20,000 experts and scholars rushed to Vietnam to build and develop with the local people. After 1965, our army sent 320,000 troops in two stages, and 1446 people unfortunately died, which is indispensable for winning this war for Vietnam.
But after Vietnam completed reunification, why did it directly turn its face to China and deny anyone, and even eventually triggered a war? In the years after 1950, sino-Soviet relations became increasingly cold. After the Zhenbao Island incident broke out in 1969, the two sides even nearly triggered a nuclear war. At the end of the decade, the chiefs began to seriously consider relations with the West, and after secret negotiations, then-US President Richard Nixon officially visited China in 1972. But Vietnam was still under fire, which they saw as a sign of betrayal.

After the formal unification of Vietnam, their ambitions were extremely inflated, and they were bent on territorial expansion, wanting to incorporate all the Southeast Asian generations into their territory. At that time, the Soviet Union was also looking for an opportunity to contain China, so it extended an olive branch to Vietnam. At that time, China was slightly inferior to the Soviet Union in all aspects, so Vietnam directly chose to side with the Soviet Union. In 1978, they launched an invasion of Cambodia and quickly completed the occupation.
Since 1977, my country has shifted its focus to economic development and has significantly reduced aid from Viet Nam and other countries. As the saying goes, sheng mien, dou mi vendetta, which also caused dissatisfaction in Vietnam. Coupled with the fact that the ten-year catastrophe has just ended and domestic development has stagnated for a while, giving Vietnam a kind of appearance of bullying, and we have begun to find ways to create friction on the border and want to completely get rid of the stumbling block in their hearts.

For China, Vietnam has created various disputes in the south, posing a great threat to the security of its neighbors. Coupled with the fact that the Soviet Union was deploying millions of troops on the northeast border at that time, an embarrassing situation of being attacked by the enemy on its back was formed. Moreover, Vietnam's treacherous behavior has made the vast number of soldiers and civilians extremely indignant. In order to support Cambodia from aggression and for national security, on December 8, 1978, the chiefs formally issued a combat order for self-defense counterattack. Subsequently, a large number of troops went to the front, eliminated a large number of invading Vietnamese troops, successively attacked some towns, destroyed most of the combat troops and infrastructure, and finally won the war.
