In October 2009, Heatherman Aheitti put on a police uniform. The first stop of his work was a security checkpoint in the heart of the desert more than 100 kilometers from the county seat. A converted barracks with containers became his garrison.
Here, 365 days a year, at least 300 days are dusty. In the desert, Reheman Aheti has been on guard for many years.
Dark faces, white teeth, simple smiles... Reheman Aheti, 36, is an instructor at the Haddun police station in Shaya County, Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang. The special geographical environment has created his character of "earthy atmosphere". Since the day he put on his police uniform, he has been with Hu Yang and accompanied by the wind and sand, and the crowd affectionately called him "the local policeman".
On January 10, 2022, Reheman Aheiti was awarded the title of "Most Beautiful Grassroots Police" in 2021 by the Central Propaganda Department and the Ministry of Public Security.
"Poplars don't stop growing because of the wind and sand, and I don't choose to leave because of the harsh environment!" Heatherman Aheti said.
"Looking back, the sand and dust are blowing from the east like a wall"
Raised in a family where his parents were deaf and mute, Heatherman Aheti had a reserved and calm personality and few words.
Reheman Aheti graduated from Kashgar Teachers' College. The whole family is looking forward to returning from school and becoming a teacher. Unexpectedly, he did not hesitate to do the auxiliary police.
"My dream since I was a child is to be a policeman, and I feel very honored to be able to serve my fathers and fellow villagers in my hometown!" Heatherman Aheti said. In 2012, he was admitted to the civil service and became a real people's policeman.
Wind and sand, the wind and sand that does not stop all year round. This is the deepest memory left for Heatherman Aheti.
The wind and sand weather in the desert is like a child who has not yet been weaned, one second just coaxed to stop crying, and the next second suddenly crying. The "soil police" who stick to this place are often "soil" all over the body.
Once, on the way back from a visit, Heatherman Aheitti suddenly felt that the sky had darkened. "Looking back, the sand and dust are blowing from the east like a wall."
"Returning to the station that day, it was simply faster than the sand and dust. As soon as I closed the door at the station, I heard the sand and dust 'banging on the tin door'! Ehetti Rehmann recalled.
The police motorcycle that accompanied him also became a "steel warrior" during patrol visits, except for the iron frame that did not fall apart, and the rest of the parts that could be dropped were dropped.
Heatherman Aheiti's health didn't get much better either. In the second year of his garrison in the desert, he suffered from gastritis, and the pain was straight up, and he had endured it for more than ten years.
In the eyes of Zhao Long, the director of the Haddun police station, Reheman Aheiti and the masses had endless words. "As long as he doesn't mention letting him go back to the police station, he can talk all day at the people's homes." He is willing to listen to the big things and small things in the homes of the masses. Patience is the new label we put on him. ”
"The 'soil policeman' is more intimate than his own son!"
In May 2014, the first police office was established in the sparsely populated town of Haddun. Reheman Aheti also moved from the desert to the police office.
The local people have lived on sheep herding and planting for generations, all of which are scattered deep in the poplar forest. Reheman Aheti used the "soil" method to "follow the vine and touch the melon", found one household and passed the guidance of this household, and then looked for the addresses of the next few households.
In this way, Reheman Aheti ran on his back for several days. The motorcycle ran out of gas, so he pushed it along. When he got lost, he walked along the sheep gut path.
For more than 2 years, Reheman Aihaiti used the "soil" method to approve more than 500 permanent residents and more than 200 households in the jurisdiction, laying a solid foundation for the grass-roots basic work of the police station.
Every time Heatherman Aheiti visits his home, he writes down the difficult demands of the masses in a notebook. After returning to the office, he discussed with everyone how to solve it. So much so that his visit notes have also become the treasures that the new police are scrambling to collect.
At the end of October 2021, Reheman Aheti mobilized the masses to count the amount of coal used in winter, and then bought back the cheap anthracite coal that was also delivered to the door in the form of group purchase, eliminating the coal problems of many families. The 60-year-old Maesterem Isreli said that "the soil policeman" is more intimate than her son! ”
In recent years, the local sand and dust weather has decreased. Residents grow grapes in their homes and have fruit trees in their homes. Reheman Aheti shifted his focus to protecting ecology and wildlife. Under his influence, the local people's awareness of the protection of wild animal and plant resources has become higher and higher, and the animal (plant) resources in the poplar forest have become more and more abundant.
Nowadays, the people in the jurisdiction have eaten "tourist meals", with higher incomes and better lives. As long as he is not on duty, Reheman Aheiti still likes to visit the homes of the masses.
The "earthy" Reheman Aheti is not only the most trusted person of the masses, but also the "protector" of tourists who come to see the poplar forest.
In October 2020, several tourists got lost in a poplar forest. With no mobile phone in place, Reheman Aheti scrambled local herders to participate in the search and rescue and quickly found the lost tourist.
"Pass on the band"
Before 2018, there were only a few bungalows at the Haddun police station. Working here, you not only have to complete the daily public security work, but also have to make your own fire and cook. Except for the big pot of rice at the police station, the whole town can't even find a canteen. If you want to buy something, if there is no supermarket in the town, you have to travel 70 or 80 kilometers back to the county seat to buy.
Zhao Long, who is the director of the police station, said with a smile: "From the video surveillance of the police station, at night you can often see flocks of wild boar circling around the police station and foraging for food in the surrounding red willow forest." ”
The conditions of the Haddun police station can be imagined. However, successive young police officers have never adapted to taking root in The Poplar Forest, and they are inseparable from the careful "transmission and help" of Reheman Aheiti.
Akbar Abrizi, a 26-year-old young police officer, has been working at the Haddun police station for nearly four years. He graduated from shanghai and dreamed of becoming a policeman since he was a child, because his two older brothers are also policemen.
In 2018, Akobar Abliz was assigned to the Haddun police station. On the day of registration, looking at the simple, dusty police station, his "police dream" was shattered in an instant.
He wanted to drink water, and seeing that everyone was drinking directly at the tap, he couldn't help but pick up the cup and take half a glass of water. "I almost threw up when I drank it, bitter and salty, and choked out tears."
What made It even more difficult for Akbar Abrezi to accept was: "There was a power outage on the day of registration." It was pitch black at night, and there wasn't even a decent dormitory. ”
At night, Akóbayr Abliz did not even open his luggage, lying on the bed board of the dormitory, tossing and turning. He made up his mind to leave this ghost place where birds don't the next day!
The next day, looking at the mournful Akbar Abrizi in front of him, Rehman Aheiti began to do ideological work and "coaxed" him to patrol with him.
In the later patrols, the two "masters and apprentices" experienced trapping cars, wading into the river, and stepping on poplar forests... No matter how much Akbar Abliz complained, Heatherman Aheti always tolerated him.
Al-Ekbeir Abliz has counted how many times, and he was deeply moved by the silent help of herders to repair sheepfolds and remove safety hazards in front of and behind their houses.
Over time, from Reheman Aheti, Akbar Abuliz understood the excellent qualities and responsibilities of the people's police. He was determined to follow the example of Heatherman Aheti and "do every little thing for the masses that can be done."
For 13 years, Reheman Aheti has been rooted in poplar forests without the support of his wife, Rezyem Kayim. She knew that her husband was a simple and persistent person, so she took good care of the 2 sons in the family.
The 12-year-old son of Reheman Aheti has always been proud of his "home police" dad. Heatherman Eksan said, "Everyone at Haddon knows my dad. When I grow up, I want to be a good guy like my dad and be a good cop! ”
