On the first day of 2022, SAIC's Audi brand flagship center "Audi Enterprise" was officially opened in Shanghai. At the same time, SAIC's Audi A7L 45TFSI model was officially launched, and this A7L with a 2.0T engine hit the starting price to 459,700 yuan in one fell swoop, becoming the first blockbuster news in the automotive industry in the new year.
Perhaps because everyone is busy enjoying the New Year's Day holiday, the arrival of the Audi A7L 45TFSI does not seem to have caused much waves, and the attention is far less than the 55TFSI model that was first launched on the A7L. But in fact, in my opinion, the arrival of the Audi A7L 45TFSI model is more meaningful for the market and for the SAIC Audi brand.
Two months ago, after the audi A7L 55TFSI model was launched, we analyzed the manufacturer's positioning of the Audi A7L, as a new model, but also the first model of SAIC Audi, the A7L has been very pragmatic from the beginning. The 55TFSI model equipped with a 3.0T engine is equipped with air suspension and rear wheel steering as standard, and the price is only about 50,000 yuan higher than the A6L of the same power level, if the difference in configuration is set aside, the price of the two is almost the same, compared with the imported version of the A7.
Today's 45TFSI model with a 2.0T engine is even more unexpected. First, the Audi A7L 45TFSI is powered by a 2.0T high-power engine with a maximum power of 245 horsepower, which is higher than the 190 horsepower of the A6L 40TFSI model and the 224 horsepower of the 45TFSI model.
In terms of specific configurations, we found two models with similar prices for comparison, namely the Audi A7L 45 TFSI S-line Dream and the A6L 45 TFSI Select Sporty Model. Because they are low-end models, the basic configuration of the two cars is not very rich, but through the comparison, it can be intuitively seen that the two cars are only different in the details, and other aspects are consistent.
It should be noted that the current Audi A6L in the market has about 50,000 yuan of terminal discounts, so in general, the difference between the two cars of 50,000 yuan is mainly reflected in the difference in appearance and power, in other words, in the current time node, in fact, it is not worth you to spend 50,000 yuan more for these two needs. However, in terms of the consistent tone of the Audi brand, A7L will also be reduced in the later stage, and if the preferential margin reaches or approaches the current A6L level, then the attractiveness of A7L will be further increased.
Summary: First launch the flagship model to establish the brand image, and then use the volume model to meet the expectations of consumers, so as to create a feeling of value for money, such a practice is indeed easy to make the product show higher value. However, aside from external factors, even if the comprehensive strength of A7L alone, it is still a very sincere model, especially for young consumers with a budget of more than 400,000, in the case of similar prices, the A7L with higher appearance and stronger power is undoubtedly much more attractive than the stable and old A6L, and if you are willing to wait for market offers, I believe that A7L can bring you greater surprises.
