Since 18:00 on the 11th, Lin Jin Garden and Lin Xiu Garden in Xinzhuang Town, Jinnan District, Tianjin City, Fengda Garden in Xianshuigu Town have been designated as high-risk areas, Xinyu Garden and Yijia Garden in Xinzhuang Town, Jinnan District, Tianjin City, and Longhu Zichen, Zhonghuili and Tongze Garden in Xianshuigu Town have been designated as medium-risk areas.

As of 12:00 on the 11th, a total of 97 cases of positive COVID-19 infection were reported in Tianjin, including 90 cases in Jinnan District, 3 cases in Xiqing District, 3 cases in Hexi District, and 1 case in Binhai New Area. The outbreak is mainly centered on school students and their families, funeral personnel and the above-mentioned people in the community, and is distributed in Jinnan, Xiqing and Hexi districts.

At present, the source of infection in this outbreak has not been identified, and hidden community transmission has occurred when the outbreak is discovered, but the transmission relationship between the infected people who have been found is relatively clear, and all the infected people are related to Jinnan District.

As of now, the patients are up to 74 years old and the youngest is 5 years old. The case became ill on 29 December 2021 and was sporadic in the early stage, with a rapid increase in the number of cases from 6 January. There have been 6 cases of family gathering, involving Xinzhuang Lin Jin Garden and Saltwater Gu Zhonghuili.

Tianjin's interprovincial lines and inter-provincial chartered buses to Beijing have all been suspended. The trains entering Beijing at some stations in the Tianjin area have adopted control measures such as suspension of operation and suspension of sales.

Academician Zhang Boli said at the press conference that compared with the previous virus, the Omicron strain is more hidden, transmissible and more transmitted, which is reflected in the fact that tianjin has been spread for three generations as soon as it is discovered. However, the symptoms of the Omikejung infected people are relatively mild, and in general, some of them are asymptomatic, accounting for about 30%; some are light, about half; and some are ordinary types, with less severe disease. Symptoms such as nasal congestion, runny nose, headache, fever, and cough are similar to those of a cold.
