Therefore, some of the girlfriends she met in Hong Kong, until her death, almost no one knew that she was the "wife of Commander-in-Chief Chiang" who had made a splash during the Northern Expedition.
When Chiang Kai-shek was 75 years old, he wrote a letter to Chen Jieru, who settled in Hong Kong: "In the days when we were in the same boat in the past, the light I received did not have to be cherished. Obviously, Chiang Kai-shek still has an inseparable nostalgia for Chen Jieru.
In February 1971, Chiang Kai-shek received a letter from Chen Jieru to her: "For more than thirty years, my grievances have only been known to the king. He wouldn't have thought that this was the woman's last letter. Because that month, Chen Jieru died alone in her apartment in Hong Kong due to a sudden stroke. Four years later, Chiang Kai-shek also said goodbye.
