Liu Minghui, born in 1914 in Shicheng County, Jiangxi Province, had a family of several people, and the poor family made him follow his father to work in the fields at the age of 6, and the only small piece of dry land could not make a living, and he could only rent land from the landlord's family.

The high rent and the oppression of the landlord made Liu Minghui's family really unbearable, so he had to go out with his father to earn a living and went to Changting County, Fujian Province, and several trips not only opened his eyes, but also made his father decide to provide him with education no matter what.

After returning, the two parents cut back on food and clothing, plus borrowed money for him to attend private school.

Studying and reality led Liu Minghui to embark on a vigorous revolutionary road, and joined the Communist Party in 1933, participated in the Red Army and the Long March, held important positions during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation, and later served as the secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee, devoting himself to the local construction of New China.

In 1931, at the age of 14, Liu Minghui served as a clerk in the Government of the Hengjiang District Soviet, and in addition to his own work, he also did propaganda work, and at the age of 15 he was transferred to the Yiqian district.

In the Yiqian area, Liu Minghui felt for the first time that paperwork was also full of danger, because there were often bandits in the area, so Liu Minghui was deeply in danger on the day he arrived, and that night a group of bandits surrounded the courtyard of the county government, and before the guards arrived, the bandits had already surrounded the county government.

Not only did they have guns, but they also smashed the door with stones, and Liu Minghui and others were a little flustered and overwhelmed when they saw such a critical situation upstairs.

At the critical moment, Liu Minghui came up with an idea: first scatter the silver yuan in the library to the bandits, delay the time as much as possible, and then let people sneak out through the back door to contact the guard company.

Sure enough, the bandits rushed up to grab money, and the guard company also arrived in time to defeat the bandits in one fell swoop, and Liu Minghui's calm and tactful response defused the crisis for the county government.

In 1933, Liu Minghui first joined the Red Army, was assigned to the Red Fifth Army, he followed the troops to participate in the Long March, his Red Fifth Army in the Battle of the Xiangjiang River as a rear unit, in order to make the main Red Army successfully cross the river, with the enemy army with aircraft, artillery engaged in a fierce fight for five days and five nights.

After crossing the river, the Original 80,000-strong Red Army was only 30,000 people left, and the heavy casualties paid a victory in the Battle of the Xiangjiang River.

After that, they successively crossed the Jinsha River, turned over the Golden Mountain, and even crossed the snowy mountain meadows three times, walked in the swamp, ate grass roots and bark, and the Long March tempered Liu Minghui's revolutionary will.

In 1937, Liu Minghui fought hard in the Taihang Mountains and launched a tenacious struggle with the Japanese army to suppress the arrogance of the Japanese army.

In 1945, he served as the political commissar of the Erye 2nd Column 4th Brigade, participated in many famous battles such as the Battle of Huaihai, and in order to resist the Kuomintang army, he entered the Dabie Mountains twice without regard for his own safety.

In 1949, Liu Minghui came to Chongqing, where he served for five years, serving as the director of the Municipal Public Security Bureau, where he caught bandits and cleaned up secret agents, maintained social order, and guarded peace.

In 1954, Liu Minghui was transferred to Yunnan, during which time he served in important positions such as the secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee, and 24 years later, at the age of 65 in 1979, he became the governor of Yunnan Province, and the road to promotion brought him not joy but responsibility.
