But there is one person who is definitely the most powerful one here, and he is Wang Lingji! The only person our army has ever imprisoned in Gongdelin is the rank of general. In prison, Du Yuming personally shaved his beard for him, and outside prison, he also slapped Chiang Kai-shek twice in anger for a woman! Why did this person become a general after beating Chiang Kai-shek? How did he get caught by our army?
In 1883, Wang Lingji was born into a landlord family in Leshan County, Sichuan Province, and he lived a life of pampering since childhood. In the late Qing Dynasty, when everyone did not have enough to eat and did not wear warmly, Wang Lingji was already in Guo Kaiwen's place, following him to learn to write.
Guo Kaiwen was Guo Moruo's eldest brother, and at that time it was extremely prestigious in the local area! However, Wang Lingji was not the material for learning literature, because he was not interested in learning, and after following Guo Kaiwen for a period of time, he still did not have any growth. Therefore, the family used their connections to send Wang Lingji to the Sichuan Wubei Academy to study!
In 1903, Wang Lingji graduated from the Wubei Academy, and in order to have higher knowledge to match his ambitions, Wang Lingji crossed the sea to Japan, the Army Officer School to study military. After studying for several years, Wang Lingji returned to China and became one of the few people who stayed in the ocean at that time.
So in 1908, Wang Lingji became an instructor at the Sichuan Army Officer Academy. His students Liu Xiang and Yang Sen were all famous Sichuan warlords in the future, and during that time, in order to show respect for Wang Lingji, Liu Xiang often followed Behind Wang Lingji, and the teacher shouted incessantly.
Studying abroad and teaching experience gave Wang Lingji the opportunity to rise, and in the early days of the Republic of China, Wang Lingji was sent by the Sichuan military government to contact the Beiyang government, and he saw the strength of the Beiyang government at that time. Therefore, in the chaotic period of the warlord division after that, Wang Lingji always sided with the Beiyang government and became Yuan Shikai's iron fan!
In 1912, the Republic of China was founded, and China at this time was in an era of warlord chaos, the situation was turbulent, and two or three hundred people under his hands could divide one side! The ambitious Wang Lingji saw an opportunity in this, and when everyone scolded Yuan Shikai as a thief of the country, he shouted that Yuan Shikai was a great hero who changed the dynasty.
Subsequently, he resolutely chose to devote himself to the Beiyang warlords, opposed the Kuomintang established by Dr. Sun Yat-sen, and became Yuan Shikai's most loyal supporter! Later, Yuan Shikai led his own civil and military officials to carry out the so-called ascension to the throne in Beijing. Wang Lingji, who was in Sichuan, used his ability to sneak and shoot horses to the extreme.
He paid homage directly to the portrait of Yuan Shikai in his home and shouted: "Long live my emperor." Soon Yuan Shikai learned of Wang Lingji's approach, at that time, Yuan Shikai had just ascended the throne, and there was a lack of such "capable subjects" around him. He saw that Wang Lingji had studied and served as an instructor, and he felt that he was a malleable talent. Therefore, he ordered that Wang Lingji be promoted to the commander of the Sichuan Army, and later directly promoted to brigade commander.
Wang Lingji, who tasted the sweetness, supported Yuan Shikai even more. He worked hard to help Yuan Shikai eliminate dissidents in the Sichuan army, and was even more determined to follow Yuan Shikai.
In 1916, during the Patriotic War, the general Chen Eunuch, who had originally been ordered to supervise Sichuan, betrayed Yuan Shikai, and at this time, Wang Lingji, who was only headed by Yuan Shikai, saw this situation and persuaded his division commander Zhou Jun to order an attack on Chen Eunuch! Later, after this matter was known to Yuan Shikai, he trusted Wang Lingji even more.
With just this one thing, Wang Lingji's official position became the Chongqing Town Guard! Since then, with the favor of Yuan Shikai, the powerful Wang Lingji can be said to be arrogant to the extreme. But Wang Lingji also formed a bond with the young Chiang Kai-shek because of his arrogance.
The matter should start from when Wang Lingji first arrived in Shanghai, although Wang Lingji, who was in an important position at that time, was already a senior member of the party, but he still did not change the bad habits of his own stupid children, and Wang Lingji, who was entangled in official duties, came to Shanghai, and when he arrived in Shanghai, he did not do anything else, and first came to the place of wind and flowers - "Changsan Tangzi"!
As we all know, Chiang Kai-shek was also a playboy when he was young, and it happened that during that period, the two met in Changsantangzi. Wang Lingji, who came to Changsantangzi, had a crush on a Qinglou woman, and coincidentally, the woman turned out to be Chiang Kai-shek's old friend! Wang Lingji, who was arrogant and accustomed, actually snatched the woman directly from Chiang Kai-shek's side.
Angry, Chiang Kai-shek actually went to Wang Lingji and argued with him. At this time, Chiang Kai-shek, we can see that his courage is great at any time.
Wang Lingji saw that a small person of Chiang Kai-shek also dared to find his own theory, and without saying a word, he slapped Chiang Kai-shek twice in the face! Chiang Kai-shek was hindered by Wang Lingji's power, and at this time he could only break his teeth and swallow in his stomach. But what Wang Lingji could not have imagined was that the person he hit would later become Chairman Jiang and his immediate superior!
Later, Yuan Shikai's throne was driven down by the revolutionary army, losing his patron Wang Lingji, and when he saw his troops gradually being divided, this made him fall from the top of the mountain to the bottom. In order to seek a way to survive and enjoy this kind of beautiful life again, Wang Lingji had to go north!
It was not easy to fight in Beijing with his previous prestige and get a Yantai town guard, but just when Wang Lingji worked hard in Yantai for a year, he felt that his career was hopeless, and he had no choice but to return to his hometown in Sichuan.
In 1922, Wang Lingji defected to liu xiang, a former student. Liu Xiang, who was already a warlord in Sichuan at this time, arranged for his teacher to become the chief of staff of the Second Division of the Sichuan Army. After wang lingji defected to Liu Xiang, he continued to advise Liu Xiang, and with his constant assistance, Liu Xiang became the only warlord in Sichuan.
In order to thank this teacher who had helped him, Liu Xiang arranged a position for Wang Lingji to be the commander of the division, which made Wang Lingji happy for a while!
In 1927, the Northern Expeditionary Army approached the city of Nanjing, and Zhang Zongchangbu, who was responsible for defending the city, saw that he could not defeat the Northern Expeditionary Army that had broken the city all the way, and immediately panicked. Immediately from the Xiaguan wharf to cross the river by boat, the Northern Expeditionary Army entered Nanjing.
Later, the people of Nanjing held a celebration in the city, but they were shelled by the British fleet for no reason, resulting in the death of more than 2,000 people. On March 31, the masses in Chongqing were so angry that in protest against imperialist oppression, people from all walks of life in Chongqing held a parade of 10,000 people, during which some even accused the Sichuan warlords of disobedience.
This incident instantly attracted Liu Xiang's attention, and in order not to make things bigger, Liu Xiang immediately sent troops to suppress it! Subsequently, Wang Lingji and others blocked the crowd, and the scene was suddenly chaotic, and some fierce masses clashed with the army. During the dispute, countless unarmed citizens fell in a pool of blood. This is also the March 31 massacre in Chongqing!
Soon after, Chiang Kai-shek launched a counter-revolutionary rebellion, during which time he wantonly killed our Party personnel in Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin and other places. It was during this time that Mr. Li Dazhao was brutally killed by the Kuomintang reactionaries. In the face of Chiang Kai-shek's rebellion, Mrs. Soong Ching Ling and people from all walks of life in the Kuomintang government jointly condemned Chiang Kai-shek.
But how could the old Chiang Kai-shek, who had long had the intention of rebellion, care about this; after a while, he threatened the armed forces of our Party to hand over their guns; after the emergency meeting of our Party, Chairman Mao put forward a sentence of far-reaching significance: "Power comes out of the barrel of a gun!"
In order to resist the Kuomintang reactionaries, Premier Zhou, He Long, and others launched an uprising in Nanchang! With the first gunshots, the first armed force in our country, directly led by the Communists, was born! More than 20,000 people in the Nanchang uprising, under the leadership of the party, completely annihilated the enemy army after a day and night. More than 5,000 guns and more than 700,000 rounds of ammunition were seized.
At this time, Chiang Kai-shek, who could not sit still, dispatched troops from all over the place to Nanchang; although only 800 people in our army followed Mr. Zhu to Jinggangshan to join Chairman Mao under the blockade of Lao Chiang, these 800 people, as the seeds of the revolution, were already burning at this time!
In order to eliminate the living forces of our Party, Chiang Kai-shek began to mobilize manpower and attack the base areas of our army. At this time, Wang Lingji, who was in the Kuomintang system, naturally also began the so-called "suppression of the Communists" road.
Under the commission of Chiang Kai-shek, Liu Xiang served as the commander-in-chief of the suppression of bandits in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River! Because Liu Xiang did not want to leave his Own Sichuan, he ordered Wang Lingji to fight for him. Wang Lingji, who received the order, led 6 brigades and 5 reinforcement regiments to Hubei without stopping!
On the way, looking at the strong Sichuan Army around him, it can be said that he was full of confidence, and his heart was already fantasizing about the joy of defeating the Red Army. He didn't care at all about the strength of his opponent, Marshal He Long. During the period of encircling and suppressing our Party's Red Army, Wang Lingji still could not change his bad habit of spending time and drinking wine, and during this period he learned that Zeng Guofan had a granddaughter who was very beautiful.
So Wang Lingji, who had a thought, quickly chased the granddaughter of Zeng Guofan into his hand. But don't think that Wang Lingji will treat her well, after chasing her, Wang Lingji not only occupies her property, but also ruthlessly abandons her.
Wang Lingji's single-mindedness determined his defeat, and soon after, under the command of Marshal He Long of our party, Wang Lingji was severely attacked by the Red Army. After learning the reason for Wang Lingji's failure, Liu Xiang was extremely angry. He was immediately dismissed from all his posts.
Wang Lingji once again became the commander of the light rod, he did not want to live such a life, and before long, the soft-appointed Wang Lingji took the initiative to find Liu Xiang and explained his mistake to him. In 1935, after making peace with Liu Xiangyan, Liu Xiang reassigned him to the army and served as the chief of the police department of the Security Command.
On July 7, 1937, Japan began its full-scale invasion of China. Anti-Japanese trends were set off all over the country, and in Sichuan, the people also began a huge anti-war parade. For his own benefit, the Kuomintang Chiang Kai-shek chose not to resist the Japanese army.
When seeing Chiang Kai-shek act like this, Generals such as Zhang Xueliang and Yang Hucheng, who had patriotic feelings, launched the Xi'an Incident in 1936. After this military advice, Chiang Kai-shek held a meeting in Nanjing to settle the matter of resisting Japan. During the meeting, Liu Xiang said: "The Sichuan side supports the anti-Japanese resistance, and our troops and logistics can directly participate!" ”

But his condition continued to deteriorate, and finally in 1938, the only warlord in Sichuan, not long after he left Sichuan to resist the Japanese, closed his eyes forever.
After Liu Xiang's death, Wang Lingji always believed that the position of chairman of Sichuan was his own, but Chiang Kai-shek's intervention suddenly shattered his illusions. Soon after, Chiang Kai-shek appointed Wang Miaoxu as the chairman of Sichuan Province, and after taking the throne, Wang Miaoxu immediately transferred Wang Lingji, who was worried about the chairman of Sichuan Province, to leave Sichuan to resist the Japanese.
In fact, Wang Lingji himself was willing to participate in the anti-Japanese resistance, but Wang Lingji, who was about to go to the front, went to Wang Lingji several times because of the problem of military expenditure. Each time, Wang Miaoxu sent him off on the grounds that he didn't have any money. After being rejected, Wang Lingji even went to see Wang Miaoxu every day for the next few days in order to get military expenses.
In the end, Wang Miaoxu, who was annoyed and had no choice, could only give the money to Wang Lingji. After the military expenditure, Wang Lingji did not care how much, and immediately led the team out of Sichuan. In this battle, Wang Lingji was more careful than ever, he found out the shortcomings of the Sichuan army and wanted to make up for it.
Originally, the previous Sichuan army relied on war to feed the war, and now out of Sichuan to resist Japan, the grain supply line is long, once it is intercepted by people in the middle, the army may not be able to break through. Just when Wang Lingji was worried about this matter, his former student He Zhi'an found him, and he suggested to Wang Lingji that the troops should establish a grain transit station on the way.
Just as he was about to make preparations, Chiang Kai-shek found him at this time and offered to let him go to Zhejiang to fight against the Japanese, and Wang Lingji took this opportunity to ask old Chiang for a large amount of military supplies.
Soon after, Wang Lingji encountered the Japanese army near Nanchang, but because of the backward equipment of weapons, he fell into the inferior position after encountering the Japanese army. At this time, Wang Lingji adopted the strategy of fighting and retreating, fiercely resisting the Japanese army, during which he eliminated a scum in the army who tried to surrender.
Although the Sichuan army was defeated one after another because of its weapons, even if it lost the battle, Wang Lingji would try his best to recommend his subordinates to be knighted. Later, in a battle with the Japanese army, after the victory of the fierce white-knife battle troops, Wang Lingji did not celebrate the joy of victory at the first time, but led the soldiers to the front line to collect the bones of the Sichuan army and establish a martyrs' shrine for it!
Faced with the warriors who, like himself, were fighting far away from home, Wang Lingji did not allow them to die, and no one buried their bones. From here, it can be seen that Wang Lingji is still very emotional and righteous to his subordinates!
Later, with the joint efforts of our Party and the Kuomintang, on August 15, 1945, the Japanese Kou announced their unconditional surrender! But China, which was not easy to achieve peace, under the dictatorial mind of Chiang Kai-shek, broke out into civil war. Our Party brazenly fights back for the sake of the people's peace!
After three years of the War of Liberation, chiang kai-shek of the Kuomintang saw that his general situation in the country had gone, so he led the remnants to flee to Taiwan. But Wang Lingji, who had always had a festival with Chiang Kai-shek, did not get a ticket to Taiwan until he was captured!

Wang Lingji was successively imprisoned in the war criminals management centers in Chongqing and Beijing, and at this time Wang Lingji was already more than 60 years old, because he used to live a life of fine clothes and food, and his life and living were all taken care of!
Now in prison and reform, Wang Lingji does not even shave his own beard in prison, and every time he shaves blood, so Du Yuming, who is also in prison, takes the initiative to find him and shave his beard for him. After Wang Lingji was pardoned in 1962, he was admitted to a hospital for convalescence under the party's arrangement. Until his death, he was buried in the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery!
