And Du Yuesheng also did a sensational thing when he was dying, and future generations still can't figure it out. On August 6, 1951, Du Yuesheng was already in Hong Kong at the time of his death, and on the eve of liberation, he had become the object of co-optation between the two sides, but Du Yuesheng thought twice and decided to stay in Hong Kong.
At this time, Du Yuesheng, because of the disease, even sitting up from the bed, was very difficult and needed to breathe heavily, but Du Yuesheng was dying and made the following instructions to his family:
I said, everyone listen. I still have 100,000 US dollars and a bunch of IOUs, 100,000 US dollars is entrusted to the United States Song Ziliang to keep, the original intention is to leave it to the family as a living expenses in the future, my body has also been seen, now I will first explain the aftermath. ”
Du Yuesheng made a distribution of the inheritance division: "The eldest wife is named Shen Yueying, the second wife Chen Shuiying, the third wife Sun Peihao, the fourth wife Yao Yulan, the fifth wife Meng Xiaodong, after my death, they each take 10,000, the rest of the money, the eldest son can get 10,000 US dollars, the daughter who has not yet married takes 6,000 US dollars, and the married daughter takes 4,000 US dollars." ”
But the next thing he did made made many people change color on the spot, and Du Yuesheng ordered his personal butler in an intermittent, but very clear voice: "Bring me a brazier, I'm going to throw the IOU into the brazier and burn it all." When the brazier was ready, Du Yuesheng did not pick up the IOU, he was too weak, but under his gaze and request, these IOUs were all thrown into the fire pit by the housekeeper and burned.
Soon, this news spread throughout the Chinese circles, and it was difficult for Du Yuesheng's descendants to understand, because at that time, countless people owed Du Yuesheng huge debts, of which Wang Xinheng alone owed Du Yuesheng 500 gold bars.
