At the beginning of this year, the Kyoto University General Museum in Japan held a special exhibition and unveiled about 35,000 old photographs of China's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
The photographs were taken between 1939 and 1945 by the North China Transportation Co., Ltd. in northern and northwestern China. "North China Traffic Photography" "North China Communication Co., Ltd." was established in 1939 after the Japanese army invaded north China, mainly for the political and military purposes of the Japanese army's invasion of China. At that time, it managed the railway, bus, ship and other transportation networks in northern and northwestern China. After Japan's surrender, the society was dissolved, and the photographs were transferred to the Institute of Human Sciences of Kyoto University in Japan for safekeeping. Here, I specially select some old photos of Shanxi to see the hometown style of that era.
