So is the treasure of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom real, or is it just a gimmick?

The Taiping Heavenly Kingdom used the uprisings launched by Western religions and also formulated a complete set of systems and strategies. The campaign lasted 14 years and was the culmination of the old-fashioned peasant uprising. It was not only the first peasant war in the south that spread to the whole country, but also the largest peasant uprising in the history of the world, and the first uprising that was jointly suppressed by Chinese and foreign forces.

The movement began at the end of the 20th year of The Qing Dynasty (1850) and continued until the 11th year of Tongzhi (1872), when Li Wencai, the last Taiping Army unit, was defeated in Guizhou. At this point, the vigorous uprising slowly disappeared into the long river of history, leaving only relevant records and treasures of legend.

In the 14 years from the 20th year of Daoguang (1850) to the 3rd year of Tongzhi (1864), the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom accumulated a large amount of wealth, but after being defeated by the Qing army, all of this wealth disappeared. Whether these were taken away or buried somewhere, only one surviving poem proves that there is such a thing, but no one has actually seen it.

At first, people did not pay attention to the treasures of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. Until Zhang Xianzhong Shenyin was sure that it was true, everyone also began to pay attention to the treasures of the Tianping Heavenly Kingdom.

According to records, the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom did have a large amount of wealth, and the place where these money was stored was the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Treasury. The Taiping Heavenly Kingdom pursued the sacred treasury system, and all looted gold, silver, jewelry, etc. had to be handed over. But all the consumption of Hong Xiuquan and his princes was extracted directly from the warehouse, without going through anyone's hands.

The Brahma Book of Heaven records their extravagant lives:

When the Qing general Zeng Guoquan walked into the Golden Dragon Hall of the Heavenly King's Palace, there were 4 large lamps hanging in front of him, all of which were treasure lamps from the Yuan Dynasty, and the material was wind-milled copper. This copper was more precious than gold during the Yuan Dynasty; in another hall, under the floor tiles were all "gold wrapped arms", a kind of ornament for women to wrap their arms. In addition to this, one of the rooms was full of rare treasures, such as ''Fire Qi'', which is a rose-colored gemstone. There is also the ''Wooden Difficulty'', a golden orb. Moreover, there is also a large jade carving, "All the way to Lianke", but this "treasure" was broken into two pieces in the competition...

According to local villagers, the two rivers and one river refer to the location of Donghuping Village. And about the back, they don't understand.

Later, after hearing about it, the director of the Tourism Bureau of Sixing County also went to Donghuping Village to see it, and found that its treasure terrain was very consistent with Sixing County.

However, according to the location, this should be the treasure brought by Zeng Guoquan, which is part of the treasure of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom.

According to historical data, the treasure should still be buried in the city of Nanjing, which is under the Golden Dragon Hall we mentioned above. But there are no formalities involved, and people don't dig it up.

In addition to these two places, there are also two claims about the treasures of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, one is that Shi Dakai hid on the banks of the Dadu River before the defeat of the army, and the other is the place where the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom once forged weapons.

Let's start with the treasures on the banks of the Dadu River.

In 1937, Liu Xiang, chairman of Sichuan Province, led more than a thousand soldiers to excavate. They found three holes, but only two, and saw no large-scale treasure, only scattered coins and some dilapidated weapons. This was due to the fact that while they were digging the 3rd hole, they suddenly sent a telegram to send them to the front line to resist the Japanese, after which the treasure was forgotten.
