Once upon a time, there was a country called shu in the western part of Sichuan, with fertile land and abundant products. The Qin state, which was not far from it, had long coveted this rich land and wanted to assign it to itself. However, the road to the Shu kingdom is very steep, there are steep cliffs and deep valleys separated on the road, once you fall down, you will fall to pieces, the route of the march can not be smooth, let the Qin state look at the tiger, but there is no way for a while.
The monarchs of the Shu kingdom were greedy by nature, and always plundered the wealth of the people to satisfy their greed for money, sometimes even at all costs. King Hui of Qin, the king of the State of Qin, learned of the temperament of the King of Shu from the people sent to listen to the news, and felt that there was an opportunity to take advantage of it. After thinking about it for a long time, King Hui of Qin finally came up with a plan.
King Hui of Qin ordered the craftsmen to create a huge carved stone cow, put a lot of gold and silver satin behind the stone cow's butt, and released the news that the stone cow would be gold.
The spies of the State of Shu told the King of Shu about the strange news about this famous cow of gold, and the King of Shu was so envious that he secretly said: If I had such a stone cow and gave me gold every day, how good it would be! At this time, the emissaries of the State of Qin came, and he told the King of Shu that King Hui of Qin, in order to show the sincerity of Qin and Shu's friendship, decided to give the stone cattle that would be the gold of qin to the king of Shu.
The king of Shu was overjoyed, and he heard the emissary say that the size of the stone cattle was huge, and it would be very inconvenient to transport them to the Shu kingdom from the Qin kingdom, so he hurriedly assured: "This is not a problem, since the monarch of your country is willing to give me the stone cattle, where do I have the reason that I don't want to transport it to our country, please rest assured by your monarch." ”
The King of Shu also ignored the strong opposition of his ministers, recruited a large number of migrant workers in the country, dug up the cliffs, filled in the deep valleys, and built a flat road to the Shu kingdom in order to allow the stone cattle to arrive smoothly. Then he sent five Hercules to the Qin Kingdom to meet Shi Niu.
Where did the greedy King of Shu expect that King Hui of Qin had already sent an army to quietly follow shi niu, and as shi niu swarmed in, he destroyed the Shu state in one fell swoop.
The king of Shu suffered a big loss for greed for a little cheap, lost the whole country, and was laughed at by the people of the world. We must learn from this and take a longer-term view, so as not to make the wisdom of the people lose our minds for the sake of a small profit in front of us, and damage the interests of the whole.
