In the latest issue of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology "Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Product Announcement" new product announcement, we saw for the first time the figure of the mid-term redesign OF BYD Tang DM-i, the appearance style of the new car and the current model are slightly different, and the DM-i super hybrid system has further "evolved" on the basis of the current model.
Compared with the current Tang DM-i, the new car focuses on changing the front face design, the middle grid grid is changed to a dragon scale decoration, the horizontal chrome strip above is also more stout, and the logo of the Chinese character "Tang" is printed in the middle of the chrome strip, which is not as conspicuous as the old model, but looks more textured. In addition to this, the black trim pieces in the air intakes on both sides have also been adjusted to look more aggressive.
The rear styling of the new car is basically the same as the current model, and the iconic through-the-line taillights and English letter logo have been retained, but the rear surround has been redesigned, but not much has changed. It is worth noting the "DM-i AWD" logo in the lower right, which indicates that the car is a four-wheel drive model.
As the flagship SUV model of the DM-i series, the new Tang DM-i is still equipped with an electrified 1.5T engine with a maximum power of 102kW (net power of 96kW), which is matched by the EHS160 dual-motor electric drive module, which has a maximum power of 160kW (rated power of 80kW), and a lithium iron phosphate blade battery, which is consistent with the current Tang DM-i.
The difference is that this Tang DM-i AWD is additionally equipped with a P4 bridge, that is, the new car is also equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the rear axle, with a maximum power of 200kW (rated power of 60kW), which can achieve electric four-wheel drive, while the current Tang DM-i series is a front-drive model.
