In 1988, WPS was born, ushering in a new era of office in China. All the codes and technologies of WPS are independently written and developed by Chinese, and have twice won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, which is the highest national award won by domestic general software. After years of technical iteration, WPS has developed many treasure functions that meet the Chinese office habits, such as random editing in any location, text to speech, vertical selection, adding pinyin to text, and one-click slimming of documents.

In June 2020, Kingsoft became the official co-working software supplier for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. At present, its WPS series products have begun to be used in the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee and the International Olympic Committee, helping the venue teams and headquarters personnel in Beijing, Yanqing and Zhangjiakou to achieve cross-regional collaborative office. IT House learned that as of September 30, 2021, the number of monthly active devices in WPS exceeded 500 million, of which 206 million were active devices per month for pc and 311 million for mobile.

According to third-party research reports, compared with similar products, WPS has shown obvious advantages in young users and students in terms of cognitive depth and breadth.

In addition to features such as compatibility, simple operation, convenient mobile office, and cloud synchronization, WPS has developed nearly 100 AI capabilities around the office field, covering full-text translation, document proofreading, intelligent writing, PPT beautification, data analysis and other applications. At the same time, WPS's rich templates and innovative membership features are also important factors in attracting young people.
