In February 1928, due to internal traitors, Chen Qiaonian was arrested by the enemy and died at The Fenglin Bridge in Shanghai in June of the same year. 93 years later, how he was arrested and how he was killed by the enemy is still little known.
One
In 1927, the old Chiang Kai-shek launched the "April 12" counter-revolutionary coup, and the air on the beach was filled with bloody rain and wind, and the revolutionary situation temporarily fell into a low tide. In order to rebuild the party organization and gather revolutionary forces, Comrade Chen Qiaonian was ordered to go to Shanghai to engage in underground work in the autumn of that year, and served as the director of the organization department of the Jiangsu Provincial CPC Committee.
A few months ago, his brother Chen Yannian died heroically in the city, and he knew the cruelty of the struggle better than anyone. However, the 25-year-old Chen Qiaonian did not have the slightest fear, and together with Wang Ruofei and other comrades, he constantly changed the way of struggle and skillfully fought against the enemy.
At the risk of his life, he went deep into factories, schools, and organs countless times to contact comrades, boost their fighting spirit, strengthen revolutionary confidence, and enable the rapid recovery of the destroyed party organizations in Shanghai and Jiangsu. Because of this, the Kuomintang has been thinking about getting rid of him, and Chiang Kai-shek once said: "Xiao Chen is ten times stronger than Old Chen (Old Chen refers to Chen Duxiu)", wanting to get rid of him quickly.

On February 16, 1928, Chen Qiaonian presided over an important meeting in the British Concession in Shanghai, and halfway through the meeting, a large number of spies suddenly broke into the venue and arrested Chen Qiaonian, Zheng Futa, Xu Baihao, and 11 other people, and the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and the Shanghai Federation of Trade Unions suffered the second serious damage.
After Chen Qiaonian and others were arrested, they were first imprisoned in the New Gate Of the British Concession, and the next day they were extradited to the Shanghai Police Headquarters and imprisoned at Tianzijian No. 1. Chen QiaoNian knew in his heart that he was trapped in the tiger's den this time, and it was difficult to survive, but the men of the Chen family did not have a coward, and they would die a heroic death.
There was only one thing he could not understand, the meeting was held in great secrecy, how did the enemy know? Chen Qiaonian thought about it and finally concluded that there was a traitor inside. As a result, he is also on high alert inside the prison, keeping a close eye on everyone around him, including his fellow inmates.
Three
The stranger who lived in the same cell as Chen Qiaonian was beaten covered in blood, constantly moaning in pain, but his mouth was still swearing at the agents and shouting revolutionary slogans. What makes Chen Qiaonian strange is that this person always intentionally or unintentionally approaches him, asking him "is he a Huaining person", "is your surname Chen", "are you also betrayed by traitors?" ”
This abnormal behavior made him more vigilant. Although Chen Qiaonian was imprisoned, the enemy did not find out his true identity, so he always used the pseudonym "Wang Mou" in prison. This man must have been sent by the enemy to spy on his identity.
Sensing something was wrong, he relayed the situation to the underground party organization through secret channels, asking them to identify the stranger. A few days later, news came from the underground party organization that this person was none other than Tang Ruilin, a traitor who had betrayed them, and that the enemy had pretended to throw him into prison in order to find out Chen Qiaonian's identity.
After receiving the news, Chen Qiaonian and the arrested comrades protested loudly, and the enemy saw that the conspiracy had been exposed, and although he was angry and demoralized, he had no choice but to withdraw Tang Ruilin. At this time, Chen Qiaonian's identity had not yet been revealed, and if the rescue was timely, he still had a glimmer of hope of survival.
Four
After Chen Qiaonian was arrested, he immediately attracted the great attention of the Party Central Committee, and in order to rescue this young and outstanding leader, the organization decided to use money to open the joints and redeem him from prison. At the same time, comrades Zheng Futa, Xu Baihao, Zhou Zhichu, and other comrades who were arrested together were also studying how to rescue Chen Qiaonian in prison, even if they sacrificed themselves.
Among the 11 people arrested, only the identities of Chen Qiaonian and Zhou Zhichu have not been exposed, and after careful study, they decided to use this point to create a "Li Dai Tao Zombie" and let Zhou Zhichu replace Chen Qiaonian and exchange one life for one life.
Zhou Zhichu was born in Nanyang, his father was a wealthy overseas Chinese businessman, the family was rich, and he was a real rich second generation. It was not easy for him to give up his prosperous life and risk his life to join the revolution; after his arrest, he was repeatedly tortured, gritted his teeth and persevered, and never revealed his identity, which is even more precious. Now in order to rescue Chen Qiao Nian, he resolutely accepts the mission arranged by the organization, although he knows exactly what it means.
Five
Just as the rescue plan was being successfully implemented, an unexpected event completely disrupted the plan. It turned out that the news of Zhou Zhichu's arrest reached Nanyang, and his father was impatient, although he did not know that his son had participated in the revolution, but he also knew that there must be a reason for being arrested by the secret agents. Zhou's father rushed to Shanghai and ran around with a heavy amount of money in his hand, trying to rescue his son from prison.
In this way, Zhou Zhichu's identity was exposed, and Chen Qiaonian's identity was not self-explanatory. Songhu Police Commander Yang Hu laughed when he heard the news, half a year ago he killed Chen Yannian, and now he has captured his younger brother Chen Qiaonian, and old Jiang must have a heavy reward. However, the cunning enemy did not immediately kill the killer, but tried to extract the list of underground party organizations from his mouth and sweep it all away.
Yang Hu personally interrogated the "big fish" and promised Chen Qiao Nian that as long as he handed over the list of underground parties, he could immediately restore his freedom. But Chen Qiaonian was already ready to die, and replied contemptuously: "If you want to kill, you can kill, communists are never afraid of death, they want to have one head, and there is no list!" ”
When the enemy saw that the profit was not successful, he was severely tortured, and the leather whip whipped him like a raindrop, beating him to the point where the skin was fleshy and the flesh was blurred. Chen QiaoNian was beaten to death and dragged back to the cell, and his fellow inmates saw that he had been tortured and his heart ached. But when he woke up, he comforted the comrades around him: "It's just a few whips and a few buckets of water. ”
Six
After his identity was exposed, Chen Qiaonian relayed to the party organization that he was very grateful to them for trying to rescue him, but the enemy would definitely not let him go, hoping that the party organization would no longer have to bother with rescuing him, let alone spend money for him. At the last moment of his life, Chen Qiaonian was still very optimistic, encouraging comrades to take good care of their bodies, study hard, and continue to struggle against the enemy.
On June 6, 1928, the heavy prison door was suddenly pulled open, and a group of vicious agents rushed in, shouting: "Chen QiaoNian! Zheng Fu him! Xu Baihao! Hurry up and come out! ”
The inmates knew that the final moment was coming, and that walking out of that cell door was the last word. They looked at them with tears, but Chen Qiaonian calmly said to them: "People will always die, blood will not flow in vain, let future generations enjoy the happiness of the predecessors who cut through thorns and thorns!" ”
The prisoner also asked if there were any last words left, and Chen Qiaonian replied: "I have no concern for my family and express my heartfelt thanks to the party for rescue!" Goodbye, comrades! ”
Subsequently, the three were tied up by Wuhuada and taken to the Fenglin Bridge Execution Ground. They were calm and shouting slogans: Long live the Communist Party! Down with Chiang Kai-shek! Down with the Kuomintang opposition! After several gunshots, the three fell into a pool of blood and died heroically.
A year ago, the martyr Chen Yannian was hacked to death with a knife, and Chiang Kai-shek did not allow Chen's family to collect his body; a year later, Chen Qiaonian was shot, and Chiang Kai-shek still did not allow the body to be collected.

Chen Qiaonian's sacrifice was a great loss to our Party, and the revolution lost a strong fighter as a result. After the founding of New China, the chairman personally issued a martyr's certificate to the Chen Qiaonian brothers. Today, the tombstones of the two brothers lie quietly in shanghai's Longhua Martyrs Cemetery, surrounded by lush vegetation and flowers. If the martyrs can see the grand scene of China today, the spirits in heaven can also be blinded.
