Qinghai Jianzha, China News Network, January 6 Title: Qinghai Plateau Tibetan Township: A Fisherman in the Yellow River 'Pasture'

China News Network reporter Zhang Tianfu

In Jianzha County, Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, the Yellow River flows like jasper in the mountains and valleys of the plateau.

Li Junlao, an employee of Qinghai United Aquatic Products Group Co., Ltd., is driving a boat to a cage with a circumference of 100 meters to feed salmon trout. At this time, the originally silent cage water surface, countless salmon trout, churning and jumping, is not lively.

Qinghai is the birthplace of the Yellow River, high-quality natural clean waters, as well as a large area of the Yellow River reservoir area, especially the advantages of not freezing in winter, to ensure that the Yellow River waters become a natural breeding site for salmon trout.

"We catch more than three kilograms of salmon trout, rough processing, and immediately cold chain transport to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and other first- and second-tier cities in China. In less than 24 hours, salmon from the Tibetan Plateau can be transported to the tables of mainland city citizens. Li Junlao said a few days ago.

"The market demand is very strong, but the output is low, and the market has been in a state of short supply." Li Junlao said.

It is reported that the united aquatic products have a total of dozens of cages, of which the cage with a circumference of 100 meters can stock about 22,000 to 25,000 salmon trout, while the actual stocking is 20,000; the cage with a circumference of 80 meters is actually 10,000, plus a batch of small cages, just like the "pasture" on the surface of the Yellow River.

Yang Bencairang, director of the Bureau of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Science and Technology of Jianzha County, introduced that the county has six cold-water fish farming enterprises, with an annual output of about 1,000 tons.

As the source province of the Yellow River, in order to shoulder the responsibility of the source and the main stream, the cold-water fish breeding enterprises in Jianzha County have always ensured low-density aquaculture.

The Yellow River flood from 2018 to 2020 washed away the cages of cold-water fish farming, and with the turbid water quality, salmon fry were choked to death, which was undoubtedly a disaster for cold-water fish farming.

In view of this, Yang Bencai rang introduced that the county is actively creating a model that combines deep-water cage culture with land-based aquaculture.

Wu Qingjun, director of the Jianzha County Aquaculture Service Center, introduced that this model ensures that the fry are transferred to deep-water cage culture after the land-based breeding base reaches the flood resistance capacity, giving full play to the advantages of low-cost cage culture and the stability of land-based culture.

Wu Qingjun said: "About 5 grams of fish fry, after encountering floods, the mortality rate reached more than 90%. Through small-scale experiments, we have found that after land-based farming reaches 400 grams, the survival rate will increase significantly even in the event of flooding. ”

Wu Qingjun said that the economic benefits of cold-water fish farming are very obvious, calculated at a price of 50,000 yuan per ton, the joint aquatic products can be sold for 25 million yuan per year.

In addition, Yang Bencai said that in the future, the county's cold-water fish farming will seek the "farming + tourism" model, such as the advantages of joint aquatic products downstream close to Qinghai's "Xiao Sanya" Deji Village and the upstream adjacent Laiyu Folk Village, forming a new economic growth point.

At present, Qinghai Province has become one of the largest freshwater breeding bases for salmon trout in the country, and the production area is mainly in the Yellow River Basin (from Longyang Gorge to the reservoir of Jishi Gorge), involving Huangnan, Haidong, Hainan and other prefectures and cities in Qinghai Province, and there are dozens of existing breeding enterprises.
