Although these military generals are well-known heroes in the history of our country, in fact, their images are artistically processed. For example, the martial saint Guan Yu, who we are familiar with, in fact, the plot of Guan Yu passing through five levels and slashing six generals is fabricated by the novel, and the weapon used by Guan Yu himself is not the green dragon knife in the novel, because the green dragon knife is a weapon that appeared after the Song Dynasty, and it is basically used in the honor guard after it appears, which is a weapon of honor guard nature.
There are many similarities with Guan Yu, and the famous founding general of the Tang Dynasty, Cheng Yaojin, is also one of them. In the novel "Speaking of Tang Dynasty", Cheng Bite Jin's family is poor, and in order to make a living, he chooses to fall into the grass as a Kou, because he easily defeats Luo Fang and Xue Liang when he blocks the road and robs him, and becomes famous. After that, Cheng Yaojin became acquainted with Qin Qiong and many other friends, and followed the young Li Shimin to fight the world together. After the establishment of the Tang Dynasty, Cheng Yaojin was honored to be ranked in the Lingyan Pavilion, and finally lived for more than 100 years, until the time of Wu Zetian.
People's impression of this chaotic demon king Cheng Biting Jin has always been extended from the rendition novel, thinking that this is the real Cheng Biting Jin, until 1986, after experts discovered the Cheng Biting Jin Tomb in Zhaoling, Shaanxi, through the study of the epitaph in the Cheng Biting Jin Tombstone, they learned the real Cheng Biting Jin. Archaeologists also called out that the world had been deceived by the novel for hundreds of years.
First of all, Cheng Biting Jin is not a grassroots person, and Cheng Biting Jin's family lineage can be described as very prominent. Cheng Jingjin's great-grandfather Cheng Xing and grandfather Cheng Zhe were both Sima of Northern Qi in the imperial dynasty before the Sui Dynasty, and his father Cheng Lou was the governor of Jeju during the Sui Dynasty, and he was definitely a veritable descendant of the family at that time, how could such a person rely on selling smuggled salt to survive, and how could he fall into the grass out of helplessness? The real Cheng Yaojin was formed in 610 to protect his family from thieves, and only then joined Li Mi's command.
The description of Cheng's weapon is also purely invented in a novel. In the novel, Cheng Biting Jin has always been a strong man with a giant axe, and there is also a legend that Cheng Biting Jin learned the three-plate axe with the immortals in his sleep, and Cheng biting Jin also used these three-plate axes to conquer the world after biting Gold.
But in fact, Cheng Yaojin's favorite weapon from the beginning of learning martial arts was the horse mallet, that is, the Zhangba spear used by the cavalry. The spear is one of the oldest cold weapons in China, and in the tribal period, there were spears in the first batch of metal weapons refined by Xuan You (陳宇五兵 Bow, crossbow, sword, ge, spear), and the spear is also one of the most favorite weapons used by ancient soldiers in China.
There is also the longevity of Cheng Yaojin, according to the epitaph, Cheng Yaojin supported Li Shimin in launching the Xuanwumen coup d'état and was made a great general with seven hundred fiefs. After Li Shimin's death, he escorted Li Zhi to the throne, but was dismissed from his official post because of a mistake made during the conquest of Helu, and could only return home to retire, and died of illness at home on February 27, 665, at the age of 77, and was placed in the Zhao Mausoleum of the former emperor Li Shimin.
The stone stele with the epitaph of Cheng Yaojin was listed as a national treasure and is now displayed in the Zhaoling Museum.
