Based on traditional Chinese culture, establish the right to define culture

Since the reform and opening up, under the sweep of the tide of commercial economy, commodity production has expanded on a large scale, and consumption-oriented and consumption-oriented culture has gradually occupied the upper hand of production-based and production-oriented culture, and contemporary aesthetic culture has increasingly shown a consumerization trend. Cultural producers often take the preferences and tastes of the aesthetic public as the starting point and foothold of cultural production. The elegant goals and aesthetic values of culture have to be greatly discounted under the blind obedience of culture to market demand, which in turn leads to confusion in the value evaluation standards of social beauty and ugliness, good and evil, so that it breeds bad social mentalities such as the supremacy of money and quick success, which has a greater impact on the construction of a spiritual civilized society. There is therefore an urgent need to establish the right to define culture.

The right to define culture, in short, is the right to grasp, formulate and guide the mode of production, aesthetic standards and transmission paths of culture. It requires the power/right holders of culture to define the nature of culture as constructors, dominate the direction and standards of culture, and fully excavate and utilize traditional culture and national culture in order to maintain and build the advanced and independent nature of local culture.

To establish the right to define culture, it is necessary to draw resources from traditional culture and give priority to the development of productive culture.

In order to balance the proportion of production culture and consumption culture, the development of production culture, in terms of entertainment culture production, may wish to find inspiration from traditional culture, make a fuss about local culture, and achieve the integration of ancient and modern, and innovate the old. The production and operation of several programs such as Henan Satellite TV's "Tang Palace Night Banquet", "Roselle Water Endowment", and "Dragon Gate King Kong" are successful examples. Since the first popularity of "Tang Palace Night Banquet", under the impetus of the "New National Style Strategy", from "Qingming Fantastic Tour" to "Chongyang Fantastic Tour", Henan Satellite TV pays attention to the integration of traditional cultural resources and modern advanced audio-visual technology, and regional culture and traditional culture can be out of the circle. The creation of "Night Banquet in Tang Palace" was inspired by the Sui Dynasty music and dance maids excavated from the tomb of Zhang Sheng in Anyang, Henan. With its rich cultural connotation and high aesthetic taste, Henan Satellite TV's new national style program has continued to become popular on television and the Internet, meeting the cultural needs of groups at different levels and winning the love of the public. Henan Satellite TV invested a high spiritual and intellectual cost to make Henan Satellite TV's personality, making the thick and brilliant Central Plains culture respected. As a result, Henan Satellite TV has become the most concerned provincial satellite TV in 2021, and its prestige directly surpasses the two major domestic TV media giants Hunan Satellite TV and Zhejiang Satellite TV. This is a good sign.

To establish the right to define culture, we must start from traditional culture and establish Chinese aesthetic cultural standards.

In recent years, some art exhibitions, advertisements, and films have intentionally or unintentionally used the "squinting" shape, which is more or less suspected of catering to Western aesthetic and cultural standards. Although people's eyes are big and small, and our aesthetics should also be diverse, but bad follow-up requires us to remain vigilant. Wayward definition Chinese looks have a long history. The most typical is the image of Fu Manchu. From 1910 to 1980, Fu Manchu's image was repeatedly performed in Novels, Screens, and Stages in the United States, Britain, and other countries, all of which were nothing more than portraying him as a squinting and eight-character beard, sinister and cunning character. This inevitably creates a solidified and bad Chinese impression in the West. China's eye definition of beauty has never been absent since ancient times. From the pre-Qin "qiao smile Qianxi, beautiful eyes look forward to Xi" to Wei Jin "instantaneous beauty with flowing eyes, smiling without distinction", and then to the modern "a pair of clear and flowing eyes, crouched under the curved eyebrows, and the black face contrast, the more crystalline". Therefore, it is imperative to establish the right to define Chinese aesthetic standards, establish a set of aesthetic standards that conform to traditional Chinese aesthetic habits, and generally accept the aesthetic image of the broad masses of the people. Starting from traditional Chinese culture, we actively absorb the essence of traditional culture and the beneficial experience in the aesthetic culture of various ethnic groups, and converge them into aesthetic standards. It can be diverse, but it must be Chinese style. Only by strengthening China's aesthetic and cultural standards can we improve the cultural self-confidence of the whole people. In addition, it is necessary to do a good job in publicity, especially to strengthen the education of young people's aesthetic culture. Teenagers are the future of the nation. It is of great importance to strengthen propaganda and education on their traditional and national cultures and to enhance their ability to distinguish between beauty and ugliness and right and wrong.

To establish the right to define culture, we must continue to promote the strategy of Chinese culture going out and disseminate Chinese excellent culture. Cultural departments and literary and art workers should actively "show the world a credible, lovely and respectable image of China." Writers and artists, as the main body of production, must walk in the forefront, write a new image that China has the courage to take responsibility in the new era and the people in the new era dare to create, consciously maintain the image of Chinese culture, and resist the invasion of bad culture.

On December 14 last year, General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out in his speech at the opening ceremony of the 11th National Congress of the China Federation of Literary and Literary Associations and the 10th National Congress of the Chinese Writers Association that "culture is the spiritual lifeblood of the nation". When culture is prosperous, the country is prosperous, and when culture is strong, the nation is strong. From the production culture to the establishment of aesthetic cultural standards to the dissemination of Excellent Chinese Culture, the voice of Chinese culture, and the creation of a Chinese image and a Chinese story that developed countries are willing to accept, there is a long way to go. Every responsible cultural person should take action and devote himself to the cause of building a socialist cultural power.
