On the second anniversary of Soleimani's murder, the Iranian president once again spoke out: Trump must be tried

Text/Walking Stuka

On January 3, 2020, Sulaimani, the former commander of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, traveled to Baghdad at the invitation of the Iraqi government to hold talks with Saudi representatives; shortly after his car left the airport, he was attacked by US missiles, and Sulaimani was assassinated along with Muhandis, deputy commander of the Iraqi militia "Popular Mobilization Organization" who came to greet him.

The united states and Israel jointly planned this incident to remove this thorn in the eye; the so-called Quds Force and Iranian-backed Iraqi militias caused the death of American troops is just an excuse. Iran quickly retaliated by attacking U.S. military bases in Iraq with ballistic missiles and issuing warrants for the arrest of dozens of U.S. officials, including then-U.S. President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

While the warrant is only formal, Iran's anger is palpable. "Political assassination" is no longer a way of acting recognized by the international community, but the United States still goes its own way, openly assassinating Sulaimani, and Trump even uses this as a topic of show off - which angers Iran and Iraq, and even the ally Saudi Arabia feels betrayal, because Saudi Arabia invited Sulaimani at the request of the United States.

On January 3, 2022, the second anniversary of Sulaimani's murder, Iranian President Lehi once again demanded severe punishment for those involved in Sulaimani's assassination at a rally in Tehran on the same day, warning that "former President Trump and former Secretary of State Pompeo must be tried for assassination, otherwise Iran will take retaliatory actions."

Although Iran is not capable of doing so, this demand is legitimate and reasonable. The United States and Iran are not at war, and it can even be said that for a long time, Soleimani was helping the United States. After the US military smashed Iraq into ruins, the extremist organization "Islamic State" emerged from the ground and defeated the "Imperial Allied Army" trained by the US military; seeing that the country was about to fall into the hands of terrorist organizations, the US military chose to stand idly by, and the Iraqi government had to turn to Iran for help; Sulaimani quickly went to Baghdad, organized and trained a group of Iraqi militias, quickly stabilized the front, and helped the government forces launch a counterattack.

Even so, the U.S. military chose to assassinate Soleimani, and as a "guest", without informing the host, assassinated another guest - which is worse than the nature of the "blood wedding banquet". It also means that the United States can kill any important person in another country that it does not like wherever it wants.

President Lehi's speech in Tehran showed his tough stance and Iran's resolute and uncompromising attitude on the matter. This toughness soon extended to the next Negotiations on the Iranian nuclear issue, according to the German News Agency, the negotiations on the Iranian nuclear issue continued in Vienna on January 4, Iran expressed cautious optimism, promising to restore the technical obligations stipulated in the agreement "once the will is reached", but "never allow the United States to set a deadline for this", he also said that "the United States and the European international community must understand that in this negotiation should give up the maximum asking price" and adopt a more realistic attitude.

Whether it is the assassination of Sulaimani or the Iranian nuclear issue, it is the result of the United States pursuing unilateralism and power policy, and although Trump's stubborn old man is quite "cute" as a comedian, he cannot blame him for the destruction of world peace. He, like Pompeo, really should have Iran put on trial. More importantly, his actions are nothing more than a manifestation of the hysteria of American hegemony. Few U.S. presidents are innocent in trampling on international norms, undermining peace, genocide, and creating humanitarian disasters, and the United States deserves to be judged by history!
