As a new woman in the revolutionary era, Comrade Yang Ju took the lead in breaking through barriers, emancipating her mind, and using the unique flexibility of women to transform her firmness towards the revolution.
As the wife of Wang Shusheng, the founding general of New China, Yang Ju himself is also very good, and he has paid a one-time special party fee of 100,000 yuan when the country encounters major natural disasters, and also organized the donation of more than 300,000 yuan to establish the "Shusheng Hope Primary School" in 2016.
Worried about the people and the country, she used her life's energy to practice her sacred duty to the revolution.
From "Big Miss" to "Revolutionary"
The year 1921 is a year that Chinese history cannot ignore and a year that must be remembered in the history of the Chinese revolution. In this year, the Communist Party of China was born, and Yang Ju was born in Nanzhang County, Hubei Province, in such an environment.
Yang Ju's real name was Yang Zongzhen, and Yang Zongzhen's family could be regarded as a high-gate household and a scholarly family in the revolutionary years, and was originally a landlord family, but later declined.
Father Yang Jisheng, a middle school art teacher, ranked second among the ten brothers and sisters in the family, did not worry about being embarrassed to go to school, did not worry about the family's poverty and short clothes and food, and was a carefree big miss in the eyes of others.
But for Yang Ju, since graduating from primary school, he has been trapped by feudal etiquette. The traditional thinking of her parents is deeply rooted, and when Yang Ju was thirteen years old, she was set as a "doll parent".
The object's family is also well-off, it is a symbol of the traditional rich - the son of the landlord's family, for the parents, being a "young grandmother" should be a very good way out for Yang Ju as a woman.
In 1935, Yang Ju was admitted to the Fifth Provincial Middle School in Xiangyang, Hubei Province, received anti-feudal and anti-imperialist ideas, came into contact with the education and enlightenment of advanced ideas, and gradually passed on his dissatisfaction with arranged marriages to his parents and family.
Three years later, Yang Ju completed his secondary school studies, coinciding with the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the country was in turmoil, Yang Ju was looking forward to dedicating himself to the revolution, and while trying to escape the shackles of feudal marriage, he began to brew "escape marriage".
Unexpectedly, the implementation of this "escape marriage" plan has become a "small long march" of hundreds of miles of hiking that everyone talks about.
There are three people who have the greatest influence on Yang Ju's "runaway marriage" plan: one is her teacher in middle school, one is her brother Yang Zongquan, and her classmate Jin Yu.
When the Anti-Japanese War broke out in full swing in 1937, the teacher of Xiangyang No. 5 Middle School shouted to his students about the revolutionary principle of saving the country and saving the people, and also told the students about Yan'an, a holy place of equality between men and women and ideological progress, and since then, the germ of going to Yan'an has grown in Yang Ju's heart.
At that time, Xi'an was blockaded by the Kuomintang, and it was very inconvenient to travel, and there was another little girl who "escaped marriage" with Yang Ju, the same window Jinyu, and the two little girls did not have a detailed map from Xi'an to Yan'an, there was no means of transportation to take, and only relied on the direction of going northwest.
Finally arriving in Yan'an, the holy land of revolution, the two little girls finally participated in the revolutionary journey of New China in 1938.
When he first arrived in Yan'an, Yang Ju was sent to the 38th Team of the Northern Shaanxi Public School for study, mainly ideological and political lines, as well as some basic military training.
Due to his advanced thinking and outstanding achievements, Yang Ju was sent to Yan'an Medical University four months later to study professional medical technology, and in the second year of his studies, Yang Ju joined the Communist Party of China and successfully graduated in 1942 and was assigned to the Central Outpatient Department as a military doctor.
The "Revolutionary Flame" between the General and the Military Doctor
The long revolutionary journey has been a fire of love, and love will always come unexpectedly.
In Yan'an, there is a special event that represents romanticism and challenges to feudal forces, the Yan'an Ball, where everyone is dressed up in a fashionable way on the bluestone floor in addition to learning and working, production and fighting.
With the influx of a large number of young students into Yan'an, the number of fans and scale of the Yan'an Ball makes the quaint city of Yan'an glow with youth and freedom.
But for many revolutionary "big bosses," attending the ball was more of a political task. Most of the Eighth Route Army generals who had already been baptized in the revolution had strong self-esteem and had psychological and physical resistance to dancing, as did Wang Shusheng.
In 1942, Wang Shusheng was 37 years old, and before entering Yan'an, Wang Shusheng had already formed an anti-Japanese revolutionary base area in Jin, Hebei, Henan and other regions as a commander.
Wang Shusheng belonged to the representative of the fame of the teenager, and at the age of eighteen, he studied Marxism-Leninism with his cousin, participated in the anti-imperialist patriotic movement, and at the age of twenty served as the principal of the primary school, which was extremely progressive.
Unlike the ordinary nerds who could not carry their shoulders, Wang Shusheng's force value was also very high, and after he joined the Chinese Communist Party at the age of twenty-one, he began to lead the peasants in armed movements, and in 1927 a "gun" was amazing.
In 1927, Wang Shusheng led his subordinates to participate in the "Jute Uprising" and led the famous "September Riot" in Macheng.
According to records, in this campaign, Wang Shusheng captured the thief and captured the king, climbed the city gate, and killed the red-robed master with one shot in the swarm of enemy troops, and the mob scattered like birds and beasts, smashed the armed attack of the landlord and local tycoon, and was awarded the title of "sharpshooter". It was such a general who could write and fight at the Yan'an ballroom ball, but he seemed simple and clumsy.
In September 1942, Wang Shusheng was ordered to retreat from the anti-Japanese front back to the Yan'an base area, enter the Party School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China to study and participate in the rectification movement, and served as the leader of the military team.
During the study period of the party school, every weekend to participate in the ballroom dance, can not dance and do not love to socialize Wang Shusheng appeared at each dance, even the seating position has not changed, after the dance will also appear a look of loss, and all this is the root of all this from the CPC Central Committee Outpatient Department "a branch of flowers" Yang Ju.
Yang Ju's generous fall attracted Wang Shusheng, and he even checked the information of this "military doctor" and learned about the deeds of this progressive woman who walked to Yan'an, and his eyes were even more difficult to leave.
The King of Xiang has a dream, the goddess has no heart, and the words in the belly of the stuffy gourd cannot be expressed to the object of his heart even if there are a thousand words. In the revolutionary years, there were many "older unmarried young people", and the lifelong affairs of these elderly bachelors were even asked by the leaders.
The marriage of Wang Shusheng, who has made great achievements in battle, has naturally attracted much attention, and Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai have come to inquire about it. After the old comrade-in-arms Tang Mingchun knew Wang Shusheng's heart, he sent a matchmaking package ticket to Wang Shusheng, but Wang Shusheng himself was very anxious.
First, he is not young, 37 years old for him is no longer called "older youth", but should be called a middle-aged bachelor; second, Yang Ju has an outstanding temperament and good business ability, and is the object of many real single young people's "tiger eye", so Wang Shusheng did not wait for the matchmaker to come out, and personally went to the outpatient department to "confess".
Wang Shusheng cleaned his face and dressed up according to the rules of blind dates, and entered the office of military doctor Yang Ju as if he were rushing to the battlefield, and started his confession journey with his feet cracked.
During Yang Ju's consultation, he replied, "I have a good impression of you," and in the face of a sudden confession, the young military doctor fled into the wilderness.
At the time when Wang Shusheng was distressed, the matchmakers finally felt that they had a place to play, and Tang Mingchun's lover Lian Jun, the doctor's colleague Wang Yuhuan, and even the president of the Central Hospital, "Red Army Medical Saint" Fu Lianhui, all came to say good things for Wang Shusheng, so they faced Wang Shusheng's second confession.
The 21-year-old military doctor finally agreed to the relationship, and in the later exchanges, Yang Ju was gradually impressed by Wang Shusheng's calm and courageous spirit. Two years later, on the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival in 1944, the 23-year-old girl was accidentally "routine".
On this day, Wang Shusheng took Yang Ju to the Headquarters of the Northwest United Defense Army, and commander He Long and deputy commander Xu Xiangqian warmly welcomed them, He Long of Hunan became Yang Ju's mother's family as half a fellow villager, and Xu Xiangqian, as the leader of Wang Shusheng, held a solemn and simple wedding for the two.
Xu Xiangqian even donated his bedroom as a cave room, and at this point, the revolutionary friendship between the two sublimated into a revolutionary partner, commenting: "Naughty encounters great, spend good to see the full moon."
The way back: This peace of mind is my hometown
On the eve of the victory of the War of Resistance, Wang Shusheng received orders from Mao Zedong to lead his troops across the Yellow River into the battlefield of western Henan to establish a revolutionary base area and form the Henan Military Region.
Following in her husband's footsteps, Yang Ju shared the hardships with her husband and the revolutionary team in the Great Breakout of the Central Plains in 1946, when she was six months pregnant, but she preferred to have a fetus and always exercised her duties as a military doctor.
Under the guards' "stealing beams and changing pillars" against the pill, Wang Shusheng and Yang Ju's first child was saved. On the eve of the founding of New China, the two revolutionary partners have been supporting each other in the revolution, and every time the revolution transfers Yang Ju to accompany him, there is no difference; if he cannot go together, he will send his relatives out on the expedition with tears.
In September 1955, Wang Shusheng was awarded the rank of General of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, officially affirming the merits of this soldier in Chinese history.
Wang Shusheng and Yang Ju walked through the war-torn era together and gave birth to four children:
The eldest son, Wang Luguang, was born in november 1946 in the battlefield of Shandong under the protection of the guards, Wang Luguang was a high-achieving student at Tsinghua University, but did not want to be hit by a car four days before his marriage when he was 26 years old, he took the initiative to dissolve the marriage with the woman, founded the China Welfare Foundation for the Disabled, and fought for the cause of the disabled for life;
The second son, Wang Chuhuan, was born in 1948, weak since childhood, and later became a vegetative person due to cerebral hemorrhage, and died in his forties;
The experience of the third son, Wang Jianchu, is the most regrettable thing for Wang Shusheng, Wang Jianchu was born in 1950, joined the navy as an adult, became a soldier of the North Sea Fleet, had a headache and a state of mental trance during training, but was mistaken by his father for being too squeamish and delayed treatment;
After facing the pain of the second son and the third son who had been ill for a long time, the death of her husband's stomach cancer, and the paraplegia of the eldest son, Yang Ju still guarded his family and revolutionary achievements with the tenacity of a revolutionary woman.
He served as the vice president of the 304 Hospital of the People's Liberation Army from 1966 until his retirement in 1983.
Having experienced the test of gunfire and smoke, Yang Ju's peace and low-key after retirement, in her later years, she loved to play with flowers and plants, perhaps to commemorate her husband who had been dead for a long time but loved orchids.
On October 7, 2020, Yang Ju died of illness at the age of 99, and after 46 years of leaving her husband, the two could finally meet in another way.
