Netizens even joked that the fuel money saved by buying new energy vehicles has been pulled back by insurance.

In this regard, Ms. Li, the owner of the Tesla Model Y car in Shanghai, which is ready to renew the insurance, told Lieyun that it was calculated by PICC that the high-performance version of the Model Y purchased by 340,000 yuan was 7700 yuan after the new car insurance was launched, and the total amount was only 500 yuan higher than the 7200 yuan in 2020.

However, just after the introduction of new energy captive insurance, Tesla raised prices for the second time within a week.

On December 31, Tesla China made price adjustments for its two domestic models, Model 3 and Model Y, of which the Model 3 after-drive version was raised to 265,652 after the price increase, an increase of 10,000; while the Model Y after-wheel version was adjusted to 301,840, an increase of 21,000, and the delivery expectations are 12-16 weeks, which means that the Model Y after the price increase is announced will no longer enjoy state subsidies.

The price was raised twice in a week, and people can't help but ask: Is this a Tesla owner who has been cut leeks in a double?

In fact, Tesla's price increase is not a new thing in 2021.

In the future, Tesla's battery composition will change, and 2/3 of lithium iron phosphate batteries and 1/3 of nickel batteries will be used. According to Lieyun, on December 27, the Shanghai Insurance Exchange officially launched the new energy vehicle insurance trading platform, and the first batch of new energy vehicle exclusive insurance products of 12 property insurance companies were listed. Among them, new energy vehicle insurance includes new energy vehicle loss insurance, new energy vehicle third-party liability insurance, new energy vehicle vehicle personnel liability insurance 3 main insurance and 13 additional insurance, basically put the common risks of new energy vehicles into the scope of protection.

The scope of protection of the exclusive clause extends to the equipment outside the vehicle, such as when the new energy vehicle is charged, because the external power grid failure causes vehicle loss, the additional external grid fault loss insurance can provide protection; the new energy vehicle charging pile installed by the family, because of the loss caused by natural disasters and accidents, the additional self-use charging pile loss insurance can also be paid.

In the quotation of the commercial insurance policy presented by Ms. Li, it was found that its new energy vehicle loss insurance was raised by about 2 points compared with last year's car damage insurance. Insurance sales said that in the next year, it may be possible to reduce the rate.

In its Tesla car friend group, most of them are owners who purchased Model 3 at the end of 2020 or Model Y in the first quarter of 2021, and most of them have increased by 1,000-2,000 yuan under the new energy exclusive car insurance, which is basically within the acceptable range of car owners.

However, for Tesla prospective owners who have paid for and are waiting to pick up the car, the cost of new energy exclusive car insurance has become an unknown.

According to the prospective owner, from October 2020, Shanghai will buy Tesla to sign Piccup, Taibao and Ping An, and can only sign in stores in the first year. If it is found that there is a car insurance policy that bypasses the road, Tesla will terminate the cooperation with the insurance company, and there will be no giveaways and rebates for tesla car insurance. Interestingly, Tesla, which has risen again and again, has not reduced the frequency of problems because of rising costs. Since 2021, Tesla has been investigated many times for quality and safety issues, involving touch screen displays, autopilot assist functions and other aspects.

Just a day before Tesla's most recent price increase, on December 30, media reported that because of potential safety deficiencies, U.S. road safety regulators said Tesla was recalling about 475,000 Model 3 and Model S electric vehicles to address issues such as rearview cameras and front hoods.

It is reported that the recall in the United States will cover about 356,000 Tesla Model 3 cars from 2017 to 2020 to solve the rearview camera problem; recall about 119,000 Model S cars from 2014 to 2021 to solve the front hood problem.

On December 31, the State Administration of Market Supervision documents showed that Tesla Motors urgently recalled two batches of imported and domestic Model 3 cars, and the vehicle had a large safety hazard, which may lead to accidents such as collisions among car owners.

Tesla Motors (Beijing) Co., Ltd. recalled a portion of the imported Model S vehicles manufactured between January 21, 2015 and November 18, 2020, totaling 19,697 units, and recalled a total of 35,836 imported Model 3 vehicles manufactured between October 4, 2018 and November 20, 2019.

Tesla (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. recalled a total of 144208 domesticAlly produced Model 3 vehicles manufactured between October 14, 2019 and December 27, 2020, for a total of 199741 vehicles.

Among them, the position of the 19697 imported Model S front load compartment lock latch and the lock buckle is slightly deviated, which does not affect the primary lock latch lock, but may affect the secondary lock latch lock. Once the first-level lock latch is accidentally released, the second-level lock latch is not locked, and the front trunk cover may suddenly open to block the driver's line of sight, increasing the risk of collision accidents, and there is a greater safety hazard.

The remaining 180044 imported/domestic Model 3 trunk cover after long-term use, may cause excessive wear of the trunk wiring harness, so that the core of the coaxial battery core is separated. This situation may cause the reversing image to not work properly, affect the driver's field of vision when reversing, and cause a collision when reversing, which is a safety hazard.

It is reported that Tesla will inspect the secondary lock latch device of the front load compartment cover for the imported Model S models within the scope of the recall free of charge, check the trunk wiring harness for the Model 3, and install a protective cover to prevent further wear and tear and eliminate the safety hazards existing in the vehicle.

Although the recall problems are all minor faults, and there are no accidents caused by the above defects, Tesla has indeed had many problems since 2021.

Previously, on December 3, according to the State Administration of Market Regulation, Tesla recalled a total of 21,599 domestic Model Y electric vehicles. The probability that the steering knuckle of the ModelY ev unit involved in the recall is about 0.2%-1.0%.

On November 5, Tesla recalled a total of 91 Model 3 vehicles imported from the production date between February 2, 2019 and October 20, 2019. Some vehicles covered by the recall may not have been tightened to the standard torque during the manufacturing process on the front subframe assembly. After long-term use, the bolts may loosen or come out of the subframe, which may eventually cause the front suspension lateral linkage to come out of the subframe, which will affect vehicle handling and increase the risk of collision accidents, and there is a safety hazard.

It is worth noting that as early as the end of December, before the price increase and recall, Tesla quietly engaged in allocation reduction.

On November 12, Tesla updated the Tesla Model Y information on its official website. Mainly for the rear-drive standard endurance version, two aspects of information have been changed, one is that the endurance has been changed from 525 km to 545 km; the other is that the acceleration of 100 km has changed from 5.6 seconds to 6.9 seconds, and a new sales policy has been formulated for the Model Y rear-drive version, and the deposit can be refunded at will before picking up.

From the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology filing information unchanged, Tesla Model Y rear-drive version has not made any changes at the hardware level, the reason for such changes, mainly because the simulation conditions of the calculation endurance have been changed, and the software level has been changed for the release of kinetic energy of the vehicle. For potential owners who have not purchased a car, the actual endurance has not changed, and the power of the vehicle in hand will be significantly reduced, although the hardware is not cut, but it is really a reduction operation.

At the same time, there are also consumers in the United States who have found that the new batch of Model3 and Model Y car central control and rear row only reserved USB holes, and there is no USB interface, and the wireless charging function of mobile phones has also been reduced. In this regard, Tesla's official customer service responded that this situation is mainly due to the lack of cores, and the USB of the central handrail box is affected. The company plans to reload the USB interface from December, but the specific time cannot be promised.

In December, in order to alleviate problems such as capacity supply and delivery tensions, Tesla announced that it would use batteries produced in 2017 on some of the new 2021 Model 3, so that the mileage of the new car was reduced by 12% due to the aging of the battery.

The same is deeply involved in the "core crisis", in the reduction of allocation and listing, domestic new force manufacturers have different practices.

Ideal Auto launched a delivery plan of "first delivery and then reload radar" for anxious users, and users who are not in a hurry wait for two months to directly get the normal undiminished models. Nio Auto will give the owner point compensation when the allocation reduction is delivered. Xiaopeng will provide free XPILOT software services to car owners, and will also do a good job of reloading in the later stage. Undoubtedly, to a certain extent, it has captured some good feelings of potential Tesla owners who are experiencing "price increases and allocation reductions".

From the data point of view, with the rise of independent brands, Tesla's advantages in the Chinese market are gradually disappearing. According to the sales data released by the Association in November, BYD delivered 90,121 new energy vehicles in November, while Tesla delivered only 31,732 vehicles in the same month, less than half.

In addition, as the biggest competitor of Model 3, Xiaopeng P7 sales have climbed month by month in recent months, according to public data, from July to November, monthly sales were more than 6,000 vehicles, of which November sales reached 7839. It is worth noting that according to the "Notice on Improving the Financial Subsidy Policy for the Promotion and Application of New Energy Vehicles" jointly issued by the four ministries and commissions of the state in April 2020, the subsidy for new energy vehicles in 2022 will be reduced by 30% on the basis of 2021. Based on this calculation, the price of new energy vehicles may change significantly in 2022.

Among them, the subsidy for pure electric models was reduced by 3900-5400 yuan, and the plug-in hybrid model was reduced by about 2000 yuan. If there are no subsidies from car companies or third parties in 2022, the reduced subsidies can only come out of the pockets of consumers. So in 2022, will Tesla raise prices again to make consumers further pay for subsidies? Or with the easing of chip supply pressure and the increase in domestic production rate, next year will usher in another price reduction?

Under the chase of the new domestic forces, whether Tesla can still sit firmly in the head of the new energy vehicle brand in the Chinese market, the answer remains to be revealed by consumers.
