On January 4, the Mercedes-Benz VISION EQXX concept car made its world premiere. The concept car started from scratch and landed on the ground in just 18 months. Now it is the most energy-efficient model ever produced by Mercedes-Benz: the drag coefficient has been reduced to 0.17, its energy consumption per 100 km is less than 10 kW/h, and the range on a single charge is more than 1000 km. The release of this car fully reflects the energy-efficient design concept and advanced technology, and it is also a prototype that can legitimately hit the road.
In terms of appearance, in order to achieve ultra-low wind resistance, the VISON EQXX concept car adopts a smooth appearance idea, the curved body surface extends smoothly from the front face to the back, and outlines a very visually impactful shoulder line above the rear arch, and the silver body is like a water droplet, and the natural flowing lines extend to the rear. A 20-inch lightweight magnesium alloy forged rim was used on the sides, and the translucent double-spoke design met both aerodynamic requirements and retained the rose gold trim that adorned the wheels. The rear is also equipped with a retractable rear diffuser, which, when retracted, blends seamlessly into the body, ensuring that the balance, proportions and lightweight aesthetics of the rear are not affected.
The interior layout of the VISION EQXX Concept car adopts a simple and high-tech design style, with an oversized through-screen that occupies the entire center console, and the VISION EQXX Concept car is also the first Mercedes-Benz model with a completely seamless 47.5-inch ultra-thin integrated screen, and introduces a game engine and a fully optimized user interface. At the same time, the R&D team has cooperated across borders to jointly develop the first 3D real-time navigation system that is compatible with this size screen.
In terms of powertrain, the VISON EQXX Concept is equipped with an electric motor with an output of 150 kW (204 hp), which can still achieve 95% energy efficiency when transferring energy from the battery to the wheels. The vehicle uses a power battery of about 100 kWh, and the power battery pack is only half the size of the new EQS, the weight is 30% lighter than the EQS battery, and the single charge lasts more than 1000km. The roof is also equipped with 117 solar cells, which are the power system that powers many auxiliary equipment, and under ideal conditions, the system can add 25 km of cruising range for long-distance travel.
