On the brand's 20th birthday, Swedish supercar maker Koenigsegg uploaded a hazy image on social media — a new supercar unveiled later this year.

The car has the classic silhouette of the Königseg, with smooth lines, wrap-around windshields and teardrop-shaped carriages.

König is a small, hand-built Swedish supercar manufacturing plant based in 1994 in Engelholm, southern Sweden, founded by the current CEO Christian von Könisegg, with the main aim of creating the world's fastest car.

At present, the car company has only 30 full-time employees and some part-time employees, which can assemble 7 vehicles at the same time. Among the 30 full-time employees, 4 engineers, 3 R&D personnel, 4 assembly technicians, 4 pre-process personnel, 2 engine assemblers, 5 general assemblers, 2 warehouse managers, and 5 people responsible for public relations, marketing, administration and management.

In 1995, Königseg moved to the Olofström plant in southern Sweden and built the first prototype in just one and a half years. The prototype named "CC" was officially exposed at the Le Festival de Cannes in France in 1997.

At the Geneva Motor Show in March 2002, Königseg delivered the factory's first actually sold production car, a red Koenigsegg CC 8S, to a pre-ordered customer. In September 2002, two new Koenigseg cars were presented at the Seoul Motor Show, marking the first official appearance of the model in Asia.

On February 28, 2005, at the Pista di Nardò in Italy, a König CCR ran at a speed of 387.87 km/h on the ring test track, breaking the Guinness World Record for the world's fastest production car.

But the record was broken by a Bugatti Veyron at 408.47 km/h on the Ella-Lescien test track.

König's pursuit of performance never stops, even as the automotive industry as a whole goes into the electrification generation.

The new supercar's recessed taillight design differs from the brand's current models and is visually similar to the 2006 CCX, a Koenigsegg that used an in-house developed V8 engine for the first time instead of a Ford product.

The prominent front diverter echoes Koenigsegg's previous automotive designs, including not only the CCX but also the CCR, which was the world's fastest road car when it was launched in 2004.

At the rear, a subtle diffuser makes it look similar to Agera, which in 2017 took the title of the world's fastest production car from Bugatti Chiron, a record that Bugatti took back last year.

2022 marks the 20th anniversary of the delivery of the first production car, the CC8S, by Königsegg. The upcoming car is likely to be a nod to the supercar, and after an eight-year development process, the CC8S delivered a total of six units in 2002 and 2003.

Both the Könisegg Jesko Supercar and the Regeera use 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engines, the Gemera supercar uses a 2.0-liter twin-turbo three-cylinder hybrid, the Gemera has 1700 horsepower, a range of 1000 kilometers, with 1.27 MW of power and 3500 Nm of torque, the acceleration time of 100 km/h is only 1.9 seconds, and it can speed up to 400 km/h in 20 seconds, and is known as "the fastest four-seat car on earth".

Gemera = ge (give) + mera (more), which are two Swedish words coined by Mr. König's mother. The implication is "I can give you whatever you want", and it is also affectionately known as "Mega-GT".

The König Gemera is expected to sell for 1.7 million euros and only 300 units are produced worldwide, and when you see the news of this car, you can definitely tell that these 300 units are sold out.

In 2019, Evergrande and Koenigsegg established a joint venture, headquartered in Sweden, Evergrande holds 65% of the shares, Königsegg holds 35% of the shares, gemera is the first car produced by the company.
