Sun Yaoting (1902-1996), a native of Jinghai County, Tianjin, he is a relatively special figure, because he is currently recognized as the last eunuch in China, he was only purified in 1916, when the Qing Dynasty had long since perished, he should not have become a eunuch, but the Manchu Qing imperial family at that time ignored the national government's prohibition on recruiting eunuchs, recruiting eunuchs in the folk, Sun Yaoting had the opportunity to become the last eunuch in China.

In 1917, Sun Yaoting returned to his hometown. Soon, through the palace eunuch leader Xin Hengru, the Forbidden City, served Ren Dexiang, the deputy governor of the Ninth Hall, delivered food for him, and poured and urine. Fortunately, he was adaptable, and after working in the private room for a few years, he was "lucky" again and was promoted to serve under Empress Puyi Wanrong. In 1924, during the Zhifeng War, Feng Yuxiang entered Beijing and expelled the last emperor Puyi from the Forbidden City. Puyi hid in the house of his aunt Rongshou Gulun and then went to the Japanese Embassy in China. Sun Yaoting's career as a eunuch was also over.
Although the Qing court perished, under the "protection" of the Republic of China government, the Xuantong Emperor's family could still receive four million yuan of living expenses provided by the Republic of China government every year and live a "small court" style life. And Sun Yaoting revealed a secret when serving concubines, that is, putting cang ears in shoes! The so-called "cang ear" is a plant with small thorns on it, and after drying, the small thorns on the top will become very hard and very hard. Many people will use it to tease their classmates and play pranks when they are young. The eunuchs will put them into the shoe pit when they are on duty at night, so that they can only tiptoe on duty, as long as they are sleepy and want to sleep, the heels will be awakened when they have fallen, and in a short time, the drowsiness will dissipate.
After the Cultural Revolution in 1966, he lived in Guanghua Temple until his death. At the age of 94, Sun Yaoting completed his life. As a close associate of the emperor's concubines and a participant in court politics, Sun Yaoting witnessed the decline and fall of the Qing Dynasty and became a "living history" among other people. He was the last eunuch in Chinese history, and his life was never able to escape the after-effects of the feudal dynasty.
Looking back at Sun Yaoting's life, in addition to the sensitive identity of the eunuch, he, like many ordinary people who want to survive, did not become a rebellious eunuch who was reviled by people in history, nor did he have the ability to be an extremely popular subject and affect the fortunes of a country. So when we look at people, don't look at them with colored glasses because of their origin and identity, everyone's life is not easy, even if you can't understand, try not to hurt those who work hard to live.
