The location is the State Council Auditorium on the west side of the Purple Light Pavilion on the northwest shore of Zhongnanhai.
Named "Platform" in the Ming Dynasty, the Purple Light Pavilion was a place for Ming emperors to watch archery competitions.
To add, the famous "platform playing pair" in history occurred here, when Yuan Chonghuan, the "King of Cowhide", blew the cowhide of "Five Years of Pingliao" to the Chongzhen Emperor without any obstruction.
In the Qing Dynasty, the platform directly became a place for the emperor's palace to test the martial arts and review the guards.
However, after the Qianlong Emperor ascended the throne, he ordered the abolition of the Taitai Pavilion and named it "Purple Light Pavilion".
We know that emperor Guangwu of the Eastern Han Dynasty had twenty-eight generals of Yuntai, and Tang Taizong had twenty-four heroes of Lingyange. The sayings of "Twenty-Eight Generals of Yuntai" and "Twenty-four Heroes of Lingyange" are derived from the fact that the portraits of these heroes are hung on Yuntai and Lingyange.
When the Qianlong Emperor built the Purple Light Pavilion, he also asked the Imperial Painter of the Great Interior to paint the portraits of the Qing Dynasty sages who had made meritorious contributions in the conquest, and then hung the portraits in it, called "Purple Light Pavilion Heroes".
It is not difficult to see that choosing to confer the title of the general of the people's army here is of more revolutionary significance.
The ceremony conferred the ranks of 10 generals, 55 admirals, 175 lieutenant generals and 797 major generals.

Huang Mars answered truthfully, saying that he did not hear my name called.
Premier Zhou was very surprised, obviously remembering that Huang Mars was awarded the rank of lieutenant general, how could there be no name for him?
Speaking of which, Yellow Mars is also an old revolution. He joined the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army in 1930, served as the political commissar of the First Regiment of the Eleventh Army, and participated in the first to fifth anti-"encirclement and suppression" operations in the central revolutionary base areas. After the Long March, the main force of the Central Red Army, he was ordered to stay in western Fujian and insisted on fighting a three-year guerrilla war in the south. After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he was the commander of the Third Regiment of the New Fourth Army. In the "Anhui Southern Incident" that shocked China and foreign countries, more than 9,000 members of the New Fourth Army stationed in Jing County, Anhui Province, were ambushed by the Kuomintang army, and most of them were captured, scattered, or killed under the leadership of him and Fu Qiutao.
It can be said that Huang Mars was awarded the rank of lieutenant general, but it is really deserved, how can there be no name for him?
Huang Mars explained to Premier Zhou that he had just heard that there was "Yellow Fire Qing", but it was not "Yellow Mars".

It is true that the names of Huang Huoqing and Huang Mars are similar, but Huang Huoqing's revolutionary qualifications are deeper and his fame is earlier. Huang Huoqing was one of the few senior red army generals who had served in the Red First, Second, and Fourth Fronts at the same time, and the only people who had such experience with him were Chen Bojun, Li Ganhui, Peng Shaohui, and a few others.
Moreover, after the end of the Long March, he also participated in the tragic Western Expedition, during which the dangerous experience of nine deaths was no less than the breakthrough of Huang Mars in the "Anhui Southern Incident".
However, Premier Zhou was well aware that Huang Huoqing had no military rank.

Huang Huoqing, who is eight years older than Huang Mars, was born in 1901 and is a native of Yangzhuang Village, Xinshi, Zaoyang City, Hubei Province.
Huang Mars was born in 1909 and is a native of Yaojia Village, Gongfang Town, Le'an County, Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province.
Huang Huoqing had eight brothers and sisters, and he was the fourth eldest, and together with the eldest brother, the fifth brother, and the eighth sister, he embarked on the revolutionary road.
In 1927, Huang Huoqing was trained at the Wuhan Workers' Movement Training Institute, and was soon incorporated into the Independent Division supplementary second battalion reorganized by the Central Military and Political School. In June of the same year, he and his eighth sister were selected to study military affairs in the Soviet Union, and successively studied in the Chinese Special Military Political Class of the Communist University of Eastern Workers in Moscow, the Moscow Advanced Shooting School, and the First Infantry School.
In 1929, after Huang Huoqing returned to China, he served as the military political commissar and the director of the political department of the Red Ninth Army in the Central Soviet Region.
That is to say, when Huang Huoqing served as the military political commissar, Huang Mars had not yet joined the Red Army.
Huang Huoqing's director of the political department of the Red Ninth Army was later replaced by Li Tao, who was awarded the rank of general in 1955.
When Chen Geng was the principal of the Pengyang Infantry School, Huang Huoqing served as its political commissar.
After the start of the Long March, the infantry school was organized into a cadre regiment, with Chen Geng as the regimental commander and Song Renqiang as the political commissar. In 1955, Song Renqiang was awarded the rank of general.
