His wife Fan Lihua was the Marquis of Weiming. Xue Dingshan had four sons. Named Brave and Strong, the third son Xue Gang was born rough and loved to fight and hug, so he was quite famous in Chang'an City, and people gave him the nickname "Tongcheng Tiger".
Xue Dingshan was implicated by his son Xue Gang, who was drunk on the night of the Lantern Festival, delirious and killed the crown prince, shocking Gaozong to death, and was beheaded by Wu Zetian. Xue Dingshan, the son of the Tang Dynasty general Xue Rengui in Chinese opera and folk tales, is not a historical figure. In the story, Ding Shan married three wives, namely Dou Xiantong, Chen Jinding, and Fan Lihua. Fan Lihua is the old mother of Lishan, with boundless mana, and finally helps Ding Shan defeat Xi Liang in the plot of the god monster. Later, Ding Shan was implicated by his son Xue Gang and was beheaded by Empress Wu.

Why did Wu Zetian kill Xue Dingshan?
