On January 1, 2022, the "Tao Painting Yuanji - Contemporary Art Cross-border Exhibition" was successfully opened at the Huang Zhiwei Art Museum in Foshan, and the exhibition will end on March 1. The exhibition will feature ceramic sculptures by Chinese ceramic art master Huang Zhiwei and paintings by 9 retired professors of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, including Yu Bingzheng, Wang Zongwei, Li Jianxian, Lin Mingchen, Chen Jiexiong, Zhang Zutai, Xie Shunjing, Guo Xiangqian and Zhu Songqing.

Huang Zhiwei introduced, "Pottery Painting Source", first of all, it is the source of art, into the "pottery painting source", ceramic sculpture and painting is not a simple 1 + 1, nor is it the usual so-called cross-border, but to use ceramic sculpture and painting to open up a "Tao" of the contemporary nature of building oriental aesthetics. The Tao is up, the art is up, so as to restore the world of the metaphysical "Tao" in the "heart" of the artists.
According to reports, the reason why this exhibition is called "Tao Painting Yuanji", its core is to construct the contemporaneity of oriental aesthetics, and to build a spiritual order of "returning from the soul". Artists return to the contemporaneity of the depths of oriental aesthetics, allowing the same scene of flat and three-dimensional art to restore a world of transcendent artistic conception. Whether it is a flat "painting" or a three-dimensional "Shiwan ceramic sculpture", the artists hope that through the "Tao Painting Yuanji" to open up a new "channel" for the contemporaneity of the depths of oriental aesthetics, constantly extend the possibilities of materials, continuously broaden the aesthetic space of "big art", and make full use of the classic elements of oriental aesthetics to reconstruct the transformation and regeneration of traditional contexts in the context of contemporary art, and at the same time give "painting" and "Shiwan pottery sculpture" a new thinking and expression.
