note! The fritters of the two stores in Guangxi were sampled to find aluminum residues exceeding the standard by more than ten times

Two batches of rice noodles contained prohibited substances, and two batches of fritters and aluminum residues exceeded the standard... On February 26, the reporter learned from the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Market Supervision Bureau that recently, the market supervision department conducted safety supervision and sampling inspections of four types of food, such as catering food, grain processed products, dairy products and tea and related products. After inspection, it was found that 2 batches of rice noodles and 2 batches of fritters were unqualified, and the unqualified items were drugs exceeding the standard and illegal use of prohibited drugs, involving 4 sales merchants in Guilin, Hechi and Yulin.

Two batches of rice flour were detected as illicit drugs

According to reports, the sampling inspection of 89 batches of grain processing products, a total of 2 batches of unqualified samples were detected, all of which were fresh and wet rice flour, and the unqualified items were all illegal use of prohibited drugs, involving two businesses in Hechi Huanjiang and Yulin.

Among them, the wheat starch prepared fresh wet rice flour produced by the nominal Huanjiang Tanjia Rice Flour Processing Factory sold by Huanjiang Maonan Autonomous County and Pengmi Noodle Shop was found to contain sulfur dioxide residues that could not be used according to the standards; the powder skin (fresh wet rice flour) sold by Yulin Guisheng Wanjia Trading Co., Ltd. was also found to contain dehydroacetic acid and its sodium salt (measured in terms of dehydroacetic acid) that could not be used according to the standards.

Inspectors said sulfur dioxide is a commonly used bleaching agent and preservative in food processing, which is eventually converted into sulfate after entering the human body and excreted with urine. A small amount of sulfur dioxide entering the human body will not bring health hazards to the body, but if excessive consumption will cause gastrointestinal reactions such as nausea and vomiting.

Dehydroacetic acid and its sodium salt are a broad-spectrum food preservative that has a good inhibitory effect on mold, yeast and bacteria. The National Standard for Food Safety and the Standard for the Use of Food Additives stipulate that dehydroacetic acid and its sodium salt (measured in terms of dehydroacetic acid) shall not be used in grain processed products.

The residual amount of aluminum in two batches of fritters exceeded the standard by more than ten times

At the same time, in the 39 batches of catering food sampled, 2 batches were unqualified, all of which were fritters. Respectively, the fritters sold by Lamei Rice Flour Shop in Guilin County and The Daily Fast Food Restaurant in Guanyang County were unqualified items of aluminum residue (dry samples, measured in Al) exceeded the standard, and the test results exceeded the standard by more than 10 times. Among them, the fritters sold by lamei rice noodle shop in Guilin's Jeonju County have tested that the residual amount of aluminum exceeds the standard value by more than 12 times.

Inspectors said that aluminum-containing food additives can be used as leavening agents, stabilizers, neutralizers and curing agents, such as long-term intake of aluminum residues exceeding the standard of food, may affect the body's absorption of iron, calcium and other nutrients, resulting in osteoporosis, anemia, etc., and even affect the development of nerve cells.

The supervision and sampling inspection found that the residual amount of aluminum in 2 batches of catering food exceeded the standard, which may be due to the producer's use of aluminum-containing additives in the production and processing process in order to improve the taste of the product, or the aluminum content in the compound additives used by them is too high.

The non-conforming product has been removed from the shelves for recall disposal

It is understood that for the unqualified products found in the sampling inspection, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Market Supervision Bureau has instructed the territorial market supervision department to immediately organize the verification and disposal of relevant work. The Guangxi Hechi Municipal Market Supervision Bureau has urged relevant food production enterprises to find out the flow of products, recall unqualified products, analyze the reasons for non-conformity and rectify them; the Guilin, Hechi and Yulin Municipal Market Supervision Bureaus have urged relevant units in the food business link to immediately take measures such as removing shelves to control risks.

If consumers find or purchase relevant non-conforming products in the market, please call 12315 to reflect.
