On August 11, 1626, the eleventh year of the Mandate of Heaven (1626), Nurhaci died of illness on his way back to Shenyang from Qinghe Tangquan at the age of 68. However, his illness died too suddenly, and he did not have time to deal with the aftermath, that is, to arrange an heir. This caused a political turmoil, and the final result was that Huang Taiji came to the throne, but his position was really bloody. First of all, at the beginning of his reign, three women were sacrificed, one was Nurhaci's concubine Abahai, and the other two were Nurhaci's concubines.
The reason for their death was simple: Abhay had three sons and occupied three of the eight banners. Nurhaci was very fond of Dolgun before he died, and Abahai was not a simple woman, and her wisdom was unmatched. And the last person Nurhaci saw was her, such a strong faction waited for Dorgon to grow up, so the four Baylors forced her to die in the name of martyrdom. The other two were concubines who had accused Abahai of having an affair with Daishan, which was probably to kill people and cover up the ugly things they had done.
The three of them were just the beginning, and in order to consolidate the khan's power, Huang Taiji deprived three women of their lives. The three were Mang Guji and her three daughters, the only princess in the Qing Dynasty to be sentenced to Ling Chi, and the only Qing Princess to be executed in the political struggle. But she was different from Princess Taiping, who also died in a power struggle, because she did not want to get involved in politics at all, and politics involved her. In the end, it ended with a blood spatter court, and ended up with the same fate as the Princess Taiping, which was really regrettable.
Mangguji, whose full name was Aisin Kyora Mangguji, was born around 1590 and was nurhaci's third daughter. Alias Princess Hada, her mother was the stepfather Fucha Gundai, who also had two sons. That is, Mang Gurtai and Derg class, in addition to the Derg class is sick and died (in fact, poisoned to death), Mang Gultai and Gundai also died in political struggle. From the very beginning, Mangguji's life was sad, and her marriage was bound to be decided by her father according to the needs of the political situation.
So she was married to the hada chief in the north of Jianzhou, which was a strategy he wanted to unify the four parts of Haixi and the Jurchens, and Hada was already dying under many tosses. But Nurhaci, under pressure from the Ming Dynasty, could not formally annex Hada, but could only find a nominal leader, that is, a puppet. The candidate he found was Wu Ergu, which was a completely political marriage, and sacrificing a daughter for the beginning of the great cause was nothing to Nurhaci.
In fact, the same was true of Mang Guji's first two sisters, the eldest married a minister of Dong'e who had a tough original match, and the second married a beloved general under Nurhaci. The former Yan'er's new marriage was harassed by the original match, because she took the original position, and the latter's husband was beheaded by Nurhaci for committing a crime. Mangguji's marriage may not be good enough to go there, how can the honest Wu Ergu fight Nurhaci?
Sure enough, it wasn't long before Hada was annexed, and Wu Ergu died of illness not long after Hada was annexed, and her father died with it. However, the ascendant Emperor Taiji thought of taking advantage of this widowed sister, and Mang Guji was promised to the minister of Ao Han, Zonnomu Duling, who had a large number of wives and concubines. Several of these concubines united to fight Mang Guji, and she naturally fell behind, and Zonom Du Ling was also more taboo about Mang Guji. Therefore, she could not get any information, and in order to protect herself, she could only invent some explanations, plus Mang Guji's brother Mang Gultai was stripped of the title of Great Belle for violating the Emperor Taiji.
In fact, Mang Guji also understood that three of the four great baylors would be removed sooner or later. It was just that Mang Gultai was the second, and the first was Amin, but she did not expect that huang taiji's sword would be aimed at herself. The first to suffer was her eldest son-in-law Yue Chen, and not long after, Emperor Taiji gave Mang Guji the death of Mang Guji and Ling Chi with three hundred swords on the grounds of rebellion. Whatever the charge, it was really just an excuse for Emperor Taiji to get rid of them, because they were a stumbling block to his path to power.
