Hannah Arendt: Love, Think and Act: Love the World

author:Puffs

Our city suddenly had a confirmed case of COVID-19, and the neighborhood next door was sealed. The community where I live requires all owners to start doing nucleic acid testing overnight. I had wanted to wait in line later, but when I thought it would be too late, I might have to wait until midnight, so I took a book and waited. The book is Hannah Arendt. It was not yet seven o'clock in the evening, the sky was already very dark, and the aunt who passed by said that the team was about to line up from the east gate of the community to the west gate. I lit the light on my phone and read the book. Because of the lighting, I noticed that the words "Hannah Arendt" on the cover glowed strangely. The gray and dreary surroundings are shrouded in horror, and the bustling crowd is filled with unknowns about life, death, and the sequelae of the new crown. There is only a little place in the city, and I have the same life trajectory as many confirmed cases. The raging epidemic swept in, and we lived in the center of the gas circle, and it was difficult to walk. It is not the numbers that grow every day, but the lives that are being taken. At this time, only in the book can you feel a little quiet and security. I don't know if it was a coincidence or not, but the book arrived in my hands before the courier was inconvenient, and the courier stopped after that. The publication of this series of books, including the book "Hannah Arendt", accompanied and witnessed the whole process of the heroic city of Wuhan and the tenacious and indomitable people of Wuhan fighting the epidemic, and this special commemorative significance gave me confidence in another city in another form and encouraged me to defeat the epidemic.

Hannah Arendt: Love, Think and Act: Love the World

Hannah Arendt has always been a unique presence in the philosophical world that cannot be categorized, and she has an inclusive richness that has always represented resistance to all formatting and labeled classifications. The literary and scholarly commentary Hannah Arendt: Love, Thought and Action is the inner logic and complete process of her spiritual growth. From the introduction of her life, to the interpretation of her doctoral dissertation, from the background of the creation of the paper "The Origin of Totalitarianism", the main content and conceptual interpretation of the concept, to the interview of Günter Gauss and "The Human Condition", almost all the ideological trajectories of the female politician's life are covered. I had never read arendell's books, but an understanding of her thoughts, especially the exposition of the evil of mediocrity, piqued my interest. Hearing that her writings were abstract and jerky, I chose the book Hannah Arendt as a starting point for getting to know her.

To understand this lamplighter of intellect and elegance through reading, to be able to introspect, is a dialogue between the past and the future, a positive interaction between the individual self and the vast humanistic world. The book covers the main strands of Arendt's political thought and political life, and the topics of political thinking are diverse. I am often touched by her courage in wrestling with the most serious issues and not being afraid to express her strong points on controversial issues. She is strong, positive and optimistic, believing that people are born towards the beginning.

Hannah Arendt: Love, Think and Act: Love the World
"In her view, if human beings completely retreat back to their inner castles to live a private life, or give up the moral courage and free heart that human beings should uphold in order to pursue a worldly happiness (the satisfaction of desires, the pursuit of fame and fortune, etc.), or even curl up in a safe and comfortable stratosphere in order to care for the biological life and value of life, they lose the most basic dignity of their lives."

Arendt's father died early, and she emerged as a teenager. Because she took the lead in resisting a teacher's expulsion from school, fortunately, her mother Marta was always on her side. Even if the teacher's remarks are not agreed, they can be opposed. The mother's education had a great influence on Arendt. At the University of Berlin, he clarified his interests, passed the graduation examination a year in advance, majored in theology at the University of Marburg, and later studied phenomenology and existentialism. At the age of 18, he fell into an extramarital teacher-student relationship with Heidegger and soon ended the relationship. In 1949 Arendt resumed contact with her teacher and was forgiven by Heidegger's wife. It's hard to judge the relationship, and if I say something recklessly, I don't necessarily respect others much. Although Arendt intervened in other people's families, she was loyal to this love all her life. She is selfless, tolerant, kind, understands human nature, understands the dark side of people, and never regrets her choice once she makes her own choice. Despite his hurt and betrayal, he accepted the greatness and humility, pride and weakness of his lover. She said that love is the existence of making the other person as it is. It's moving. Many people may feel that this is a love brain, and the right to choose whether to believe or not is always in their own hands. She is simple and obsessive, but also brave, knowing that the abyss ahead is willing to jump in love, although I do not advocate, but also feel compassion. Although it is a shameful affection, I feel a hint of frankness in my chest, but I will not praise it, maybe just sympathy.

After settling down in the United States, Arendt's circle of friends was enviable. She also had a pure friendship with many friends, maintained a long-term correspondence, and talked about everything. Arendt was not afraid to express his maverick opinion in public. Feel the emotions of the black girl from her own experience, and reflect on the Little Rock incident. She is a rational reflector, experiencing the feelings of others with the feelings of female compassion and generosity and wisdom, and cutting into the political logic of the Nazis from the perspective of sympathy and understanding. The law cannot judge history, but can only try this person on charges of murder. Thinking from the perspective of a criminal, Adolf only wants to enforce the law. He's not stupid, he just doesn't think. If you do not obey orders in war, you can only die. As a Nazi official, Adolf simply fulfilled his mission, and it had nothing to do with where he transported the Jews. If it had been his father who was transporting it at the time, he would have done the same. Put yourself in the shoes of everyone who can carry out orders, which has nothing to do with conscience or responsibility, and that's the terrible thing. The trial was for political purposes, not historical truth. Thinking is the act of loneliness. I could feel Arendt's toughness, her detachment in getting involved in right and wrong. For Adolf, the one most qualified to beat her chest was Arendt, who had been imprisoned in concentration camps and was a victim. But she has an independent spirit and free thoughts, and is strong enough to stand out from the crowd. Trying to understand doesn't mean forgiving. Only extremes constitute evil. I can't help but wonder whether it is the collective public opinion that tells you what to do, or the result of your own thinking. Misunderstandings are inevitable, and being true to oneself comes at a cost.

Hannah Arendt: Love, Think and Act: Love the World

She said that the truth is more and more clear, and whether the speech is right or wrong, there should be a voice. She said that if you want others to love you, you must first love yourself. In classical Greek philosophy, true love was self-love. She said Amor Mundi, love specific people. She said that when a person is unattractive, uninsurprising and unshakable, there is something fascinating about him. Any form of oversimplification, she said, can only contribute to the blurring of the real situation. She said... We can't help but be attracted by arendt's charm, she is indeed dazzling and radiant.

Thanks for reading and I wish you a happy day too.
