A miserable childhood
Huang'an (present-day Hong'an), Hubei Province, a city that occupies an important place in the history of the Red Revolution, is also Qin Jiwei's hometown, where he was born in 1914.
He had a happy childhood, his parents loved him, his brother and sister took very good care of his younger brother, as the youngest child in the family, he was a treasure in the family.
When he was 8 years old, his father sent him to a private school, and he was active in nature, and he did not know how difficult it was to study this opportunity. Coming to the classroom is not good to study, from time to time he sneaks out to hunt birds and fish, seeing him so indisputable, he has been studying for less than a year, his father let him go home to work.
Qin Jiwei did not expect that the happy days would end with the end of his reading career.
Shortly after returning home, there was a famine in Huang'an, which lasted for several years. After the catastrophe was the great epidemic, his parents and uncle died one after another, his sister married to a foreign country early in order to survive, leaving only him and his brother to rely on each other for their lives, but the hateful plague god still did not let them go, and finally his brother also left him, in just over two years, Qin Jiwei lost all his relatives. A year later, a revolutionary fire burned in the Dabie Mountain area, and there was a riot in Huang'ancheng, and the time came for the poor peasants to change the world, and Qin Jiwei, who was only 13 years old at the time, also participated in the uprising with a red gun. Later, together with several partners of the Children's Regiment, he came to the garrison of the Red 31st Division and signed up for the Red Army.

In the fourth anti-"encirclement and suppression" struggle, Qin Jiwei's right arm was hit by a bullet, and his bones were broken. However, due to the deterioration of the situation in the Soviet zone, the Red Fourth Front had to move to the west. Seriously injured people like Qin Jiwei did not take them with them, and the organization sent him two small yuan treasures to find a reliable fellow to recuperate.
Qin Jiwei took the Yuanbao, looked at the figure of his comrades-in-arms who were gradually leaving, and shed tears unwillingly. Thinking that he was only injured in the arm and that his legs were still good, he stubbornly followed the large army for several days. Seeing that he had such perseverance, a leader arranged guards for him, and finally after a month of trekking over mountains and mountains, he finally arrived in Tongjiang County, Sichuan.
Later, after smashing the enemy's two sieges, new base areas were established, the troops were also strengthened, a large number of experienced grass-roots cadres were promoted, and Qin Jiwei was promoted to the commander of the supplementary division.
A military general with outstanding abilities
After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the time had come to truly test Qin Jiwei's ability, and he was sent to Taigu County, Shanxi Province, to prepare for the establishment of anti-Japanese armed forces. At first, he was alone, not even a companion, but with the cooperation of local comrades, he founded a guerrilla warfare training class. Many patriotic young people came to visit, and the training course soon grew to more than 300 people.
Later, when the Japanese attacked Taiyuan, he formed the "Taigu Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Group" with these people, and soon according to the instructions of his superiors, the two guerrilla groups that Yuci and Pingding were combined with the Taikoo guerrillas, with Qin Jiwei as the commander and Lai Jifa as the political commissar, so it was called the "Qin Lai Detachment" to the outside world.
Don't look at the team of only more than five hundred people, but under the leadership of the two people, flexible use of guerrilla tactics, even fought several victorious battles, the surrounding young people with anti-Japanese intentions or local armed forces have come to defect, less than half a year the team has been expanded to more than 5,000 people, and later after the establishment of the Jinji-Hebei Yu Military Region, the Qin Lai detachment was reorganized into the First Military Sub-district, and the two were divided into commanders and political commissars.
In 1944, the Japanese army's life was not good, but the Eighth Route Army began to take the initiative to attack, when Qin Jiwei led his troops to launch a spring offensive, a summer offensive, and in 1945 launched the Battle of Yuandi, recovering a large area of lost land and consolidating the guerrilla zone. As soon as Japan surrendered, our Party announced the establishment of the Jin-Hebei Luyu Military Region, with Qin Jiwei as commander of the Taihang Military Region.
After the War of Liberation, the founding of New China was finally ushered in, and in early 1951, Qin Jiwei, who had just graduated from the Nanjing Military Academy, led the 15th Army to fight in Korea and became famous in the Battle of Shangganling.
It is very difficult to persist in this battle to the final victory, not to mention that the volunteer soldiers who fought against the US army on the front line are the fighters in the tunnels, who are bombarded by the US side every day, and the huge noise leads to eardrum swelling, serious deafness, and even many people are shocked to death.
In the campaign, the Fifteenth Army also produced a total of 12,347 combat heroes at all levels, represented by huang Jiguang, a special combat hero, accounting for more than a quarter of the total number of troops. It was precisely because of the courageous battle of the vast number of officers and men of the Fifteenth Army, who fought hard with the enemy army regardless of life and death, that they won brilliant victories.
After returning to China, the chairman also specially received Qin Jiwei, and he received him alone, which was the supreme honor. Since then, General Qin has risen step by step, successively serving as deputy commander of the Yunnan Military Region, deputy commander of the Kunming Military Region, commander of the Chengdu Military Region, political commissar and commander of the Beijing Military Region, and in 1988 he was promoted to general and was also elected minister of national defense.
