Shaanxi found a "toilet" tomb, because too small villagers have been dismissive for generations, unearthed pieces of national treasure

A gentle gust of wind awakens the body that has been sleeping for a thousand years; a gentle gust of wind blows away the mysterious veil of history. Standing on the shoulders of time, I talk to history.

On the east bank of the Qingjiang River in Yimen Village, Baoji City, Shaanxi Province, there is a small tomb with its unassuming appearance, which is not more than a few square meters in size, and the size is no more than the toilet in the hotel now, and the tomb specifications are extremely shabby.

The surrounding area is overgrown with weeds, and it has been an unknown number of years since the surrounding villagers, and the surrounding villagers only know that the tomb has existed since they were young, but people do not know the true age of the tomb. However, in 1992, with the arrival of a group of strangers, Yimen Village broke the tranquility and could never go back to the past.

This group of strange visitors was actually a group of archaeologists, who at first came here to survey everywhere, and did not have much hope that the large-scale earth tombs in this place would be produced. However, as the long-sealed tomb reappeared, the funerary objects inside shocked the entire society. This tomb is the famous Spring and Autumn Tomb of Baoji Yimen No. 2.

With the deepening of the excavation work, almost a large number of treasures can shock archaeologists, these treasures can be called national treasure level cultural relics, extremely rare and precious. This tomb, which is only the size of a bathroom, contains more than 200 treasures such as various gold, jade, and iron objects. The gold artifacts unearthed in the meantime weigh about 3,000 grams.

Later, according to the analysis, the source of this ancient tomb can be traced back to the pre-Qin period, and the weight of its gold ware can be called the first of the pre-Qin tombs in the Central Plains, and its exquisite shape and gorgeous ornamentation were rare at that time, and it was definitely called a national treasure.

These metal products are mainly swords, knives, hooks and buckles, among which such as gold ring iron knives, gold handle iron swords, as well as gold beads and gold belt hooks, can be described as rare national treasures. These gold objects depict a large number of ancient sacred beasts, and it is clear that they inherit the craftsmanship of the Bronze Ware of the Central Plains during the Shang and Zhou Dynasties. Since the Spring and Autumn Period, Baoji has come under the jurisdiction of the State of Qin.

Therefore, according to speculation, this tomb is likely to be a Qin tomb in the late Spring and Autumn Period.

A large number of iron tools excavated from this tomb are mainly swords, and the manufacture and use of iron tools has a history as early as the Shang Dynasty. However, due to the immature smelting technology, throughout the history of the Zhou Dynasty for more than 700 years, the princely states used bronze as the main vessel material.

Before this ancient tomb was excavated, the history of artificial cast iron in China can be pushed back to the late Western Zhou Dynasty, but the burial of a large number of iron tools in this tomb shows that the Qin State has begun to use iron on a large scale at that time, compared with other princely states, ironmaking technology is also in a leading position, which shows that before the later Qin unified the Six Kingdoms, the level of science and technology has laid a solid foundation for it.

The gold and iron artifacts excavated from this tomb can be described as excellent throughout the Spring and Autumn Period, and cannot be used by non-high-ranking nobles, but when the tomb is excavated, the coffin of the tomb owner cannot be seen, so who its owner is also a confusing mystery. Because according to the ancient burial ceremony, the nobles who can match such wealth should not leave their names in the history books.

In addition, why is the external size of a tomb with such high-standard wealth so small, so small that even the shabby is indescribable, so that after 2600 years, no tomb robbers have stolen it?

With the in-depth research of experts, it was found that the production process and vessel carvings of the funerary products in this tomb are the same as those of the famous Tomb No. 1 of The Duke of Qin.

This tomb occupies the top five in the history of Chinese archaeology. One is that it is the largest pre-Qin tomb excavated in China today; the second is that it is the tomb with the largest number of burials since the Western Zhou Dynasty, with a total of 186 martyrs; the third is the cypress wood "yellow intestine inscription" of the rafter chamber, which is the highest level of burial tools excavated in China so far in the Zhou and Qin dynasties; the wooden stele on the outside of the two walls of the chamber is the earliest tombstone in the history of Chinese tombs. It is also a bit funny to say, in addition, it should have one of the most, it is the tomb with the most stolen holes in the ancient tombs of the pre-Qin.

According to the research and inference of experts, this ancient tomb is inextricably linked to the Tomb of Qin Gong No. 1, similar to almost the same, but its tomb regulations are full of contradictions with the ornaments in the tomb, and there is a possibility that the owner of this tomb is not an aristocratic identity, but a tomb robber, but he is also a long-standing tomb robber, after all, this person is also in the Spring and Autumn Period. After this tomb robber stole the funeral goods of the Duke of Qin, he eventually used them as his own funerary products.

However, with the deepening of research, experts found that the funerary items in the tomb had a considerable number of horse harnesses, but no carriage tools, so a new possibility was proposed: the owner of the tomb may be a Rong nobleman from the northern nomadic people, and these utensils are the funerary products of this nobleman.

First of all, so many funerary products should be owned by nobles with higher status, and in the tombs of the Qin nobles, pay attention to the carriage and horses, and there must be carriages and harnesses, but the only horse harnesses show that the owner of the tomb is not a Qin person, but should be a Rong person. Secondly, after the Qin state conquered the Rong people in the Spring and Autumn Period, it did not exterminate all the Rong people, and some Rong nobles were taken captive to the old qin land after the defeat of the war, and were provided by the Qin people to be inspired, and this second conclusion provided a greater basis.

However, over time, it is difficult for us to glimpse the legend of the tomb owner's life, and it is difficult to determine who the tomb owner is. But the only thing that is certain is that the discovery of these national treasures, which avoided theft or loss, is blooming in some corner of the museum.
