Zhao Kuangyin had the ambition to unify the world, and Later Shu was naturally the target of his conquest. In 964, Zhao Kuangyin sent a large army to attack Hou shu, and Meng Chang knew about it and sent Wang Zhaoyuan to defend.
Wang Zhaoyuan was a man who did not understand military affairs, but liked to talk about him, and he threatened to defeat the Song army and protect the safety of Hou Shu. Meng Chang was very happy after listening to it, but as soon as Wang Zhaoyuan and the Song army fought, they were destroyed by the Song army.
After Meng Chang knew, he couldn't cry himself, he knew that the Shu kingdom was going to die sooner or later, so he surrendered to the Song army. At that time, it was the first month, the people of the Shu Kingdom were all in the New Year, and Meng Chang had nothing to leave for the people, so he wrote a couplet "New Year Na Yu Qing, Jia Jie Number Changchun!" ”
This is the earliest pair of Spring League in China, since then Chinese have had the habit of writing Spring League, and at the Time of the New Year, every household must paste spring league, which has been passed down to this day.
Also the emperor of the Shu kingdom, Liu Chan was very lucky, he lived for ten years after surrendering, but Meng Chang was different, he died seven days after surrendering, maybe he missed the Shu kingdom more and died of depression. I have to say that Liu Chan's mentality is really good.
