The origin of the New Year's Post Spring League

The earliest couplets on the mainland are generally considered to be the "inscription peach symbols" of the Shu lord Meng Chang after the Five Dynasties period.
In 964, Xin Yinxun, a scholar of Meng Chang, wrote an auspicious verse on a peach rune. After the Xin question, Meng Chang did not like it, so he personally ordered a pen and inscribed a couplet of "New Year Na Yu Qing, Jia Jie Number Changchun." ”。 Among them, "Jia" is the same as "Jia", and the names of "Yu Qing" and "Changchun" are cleverly embedded. "Yuqing" refers to Lü Yuqing, who was appointed as the prefect of Chengdu, and "Changchun" is the birthday name of Meng Chang. Meng Chang's inscription of this door is also the first pair of spring leagues in the history of the mainland.
In the Song Dynasty, people began to write couplets on peach wood boards, one did not lose the meaning of peach wood to suppress evil, two expressed their good wishes, and three decorated the portal for beauty.
Later, with the emergence of the door god, the peach symbol was written on red paper symbolizing joy and auspiciousness, and the mission of the peach rune to drive away evil spirits and avoid disasters in the past was gradually transferred to the door god, and the content of the peach rune evolved into a spring union used to express people's good wishes for the coming of good fortune and abundant grains.
The term "Chunlian" appeared in the early years of the Ming Dynasty. It is said that after Zhu Yuanzhang, the ming emperor, became emperor in that year, one year, before the Chinese New Year's Eve, he promulgated a royal decree: "The house of the secretary of state, Shishu, must write a pair of Spring Leagues to embellish the New Year", requiring every household in Jinling to write the Spring League on red paper and paste it on the door frame. Later, the Spring League was promoted, and it has been passed down to this day, and during the New Year, every household has posted the Spring League.
In the hometown, the spring league is called the pair, the spring league is called the sticker pair, and the writing of the spring league is called the writing pair. The previous pairs were all handwritten, five or seven words of up and down and horizontal batches, written on red paper, neat and tidy, the content has a beautiful vision and blessing for the coming year, and the meaning is quite deep. Now the pairs, are printed, a New Year full of streets are selling pairs, a variety of fonts, mainly in script, there are ink printed on red paper, there are gold powder printed on red paper, golden sparkling, very beautiful.
In my memory, there was a mr. writing on the street after the twentieth day of the waxing moon. At first, the neighbors took the cut red paper and asked Dad to write with a brush. The written couplet was hung on the lying cabinet, and it was really impossible to dry, so it was put on the ground. Some neighbors brought the wrong size of the red paper, five words and seven words can not be written, the width and narrowness are not enough, Dad took his own red paper, re-cut and wrote. If you start writing after dinner, you can probably come two or three neighbors, the last one is not done, and the next one will come.
When the neighbors' pairs were almost written, it was the twenty-ninth of the year. Now it's their turn to be home, and if you don't write it again, there will be no pairs to post at noon. As usual, dad washed his hair, washed his face and feet before writing pairs, and he said that he could concentrate and have the spirit to write when writing pairs.
Originally, when the pair was written, it was pressed with a strip of stone, but my brother and I forced ourselves to go over and keep pinching the paper head of the pair with our hands. Dad divided the work, and the younger brother pressed the pair of paper heads. The reason is that after Dad has written a word, he can pull the spare part to the next word without any mistake, and I will hang the written pair on the lying cabinet. Looking at the rows of pairs neatly hanging on the cabinet, smelling the smell of ink, saying that the smell of this ink is really smelly, mom said ink fragrance, how can it be stinky! There are more pairs to dry, a pair of pairs pasted to the gate, and the frequency of writing is the highest. "Heaven increases the age of people to increase life, spring is full of blessings on earth", horizontal batch: "Spring returns to the earth". This pair now seems to be very atmospheric and full of meaning. Imagine such a wide, red, allegorical, blessed pair pasted at the gate, and looked at it when entering and exiting the gate.
After dinner, I began to watch the Spring Festival Gala, and when the clock rang at midnight, my father and brother went to the yard to set off cannons, fire cages, and check whether the pairs had been blown away by the wind. If the pair is missing, Dad writes another one on the spot.
Now there are all kinds of printed couplets in the supermarket, there are also Chinese knots, red lanterns, what you want to buy put in the shopping cart, checkout will get it. The pleasure of personally participating in the pairing is far more enjoyable than what can be done without waiting and personally participating.
