Since the beginning of this year, the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau has severely cracked down on prominent illegal crimes that seriously affect the people's sense of security and satisfaction, such as infringing on citizens' personal information, damaging computer information systems, and online pornography, as well as network black industries that provide payment and settlement, advertising promotion, station construction facilities, technical support and other services for illegal crimes, cracking a total of 3114 various network cases and arresting 6034 suspects involved in the cases.
The Beijing police have organized six centralized network collection operations to combat cybercrime, including:
Concentrated on smashing 5 criminal gangs that used number-snatching software to illegally seize and resell the number source of Beijing Hospitals, and arrested 66 suspects involved in the case, such as number-snatching software developers, users, and "number dealers";
Concentrate on cracking down on online black industry crimes that provide services such as promotion and drainage, account unblocking, and renting and selling network numbers for telecommunications network fraud, and arrest 59 suspects;
Concentrate on eradicating a number of network black products involved in "code connection platforms", and arrest 48 suspects of "card merchants" and "number merchants" and those who use illegal network numbers to engage in network fraud, network trolls and other criminal activities;
Concentrate on cracking down on illegal use of information networks to produce and disseminate obscene materials, and use the Internet to promote prostitution information, arrest 69 suspects, and destroy 4 prostitution platforms and 3 pornographic websites.
While strengthening the crackdown on online crimes, the network security department of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau cleaned up a total of 4.08 million illegal and harmful information, shut down 190,000 illegal accounts, and administratively investigated and punished 2,775 illegal enterprises.
