On December 31, 2021, "Go to the Folk – Pan Lusheng Folk Art Exhibition" was exhibited at the National Museum of China, located in the South 2 (S2) Exhibition Hall of the National Museum of China for a period of two months. The exhibition is sponsored by the National Museum of China, the China Artists Association, the Chinese Folk Writers Association, and hosted by the Shandong Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Shandong Academy of Arts and Crafts. The exhibition takes The Folk Art Collection, Folk Art Research and Artistic Creation of Professor Pan Lusheng, President of Shandong Academy of Arts and Crafts, as the main body, and exhibits more than 500 pieces (sets) of traditional folk art works and contemporary art creations, comprehensively displaying the collection, research and transformation and development of folk art in contemporary art creation, and vividly reflecting the value pursuit of contemporary folk art workers to take root in the folk and inherit ingenuity.
First, the origin of the exhibition
Traditional Chinese folk art has a long history, is an important witness to the survival and development of our country and nation on the land of China for thousands of years, and is also the spiritual link between tradition and contemporary blood. How to inherit, protect and carry forward traditional Chinese folk art, so that the beauty of folk art can better contain people's lives, and inject more vitality and vitality into the prosperity and development of socialist culture is an important issue of the times. Protection and inheritance are inseparable from cognition and understanding, this exhibition is to visually show the rich nourishment provided by traditional folk art for the creation of contemporary art, and call for the protection, inheritance and innovation of traditional folk art.
General Secretary Xi Jinping attaches great importance to the historical foundation, traditional foundation and national characteristics of Chinese civilization, emphasizing that folk art is the precious wealth of the Chinese nation, and protecting, inheriting and making good use of these treasures left by the ancestors is of great significance to the continuation of the historical context and the construction of a socialist cultural power, requiring attention to the development of nationalized artistic content and form, inheriting and carrying forward the national folk literature and art tradition, expanding style genres and forms, and clearly establishing Chinese style and Chinese style in the field of world literature and art. Through the full display of folk art and its collation and research and inheritance, this exhibition clearly issues the initiative of "going to the people", which is not only an appeal for the protection and inheritance of traditional folk crafts, but also a vivid interpretation of the major theoretical theme that the development of civilization cannot be separated from the people and the construction of socialist culture needs the people. 2. Content overview
The exhibition is divided into five parts: walking thousands of miles, pearl diving and silk picking, topfunaling, chasing light and color, and inheriting ingenuity:
Prologue Through the introduction of Professor Pan Lusheng and his team consciously adhere to the people-centered work orientation, take "enhancing foot, eye, brain and pen strength" as the criterion, through the folk field research work that has footprints all over the motherland, "go to the people" to discover, excavate, collect and record the physical specimens of China's excellent traditional culture, and deeply study the cultural spirit that is contained in it and is endless. Reflecting that the study of folk art is inseparable from the accumulation of bits and pieces and down-to-earth, it is necessary to do a good job in the basic work represented by field research, and it is necessary to "go to the folk".
The opening exhibits of the three main units each contain the two craft themes elaborated in this unit, and the collection and creation of traditional folk art are integrated and displayed according to the materials and expression techniques used:
Unit 1 Pearling and Silk Picking. Starting from the exhibit "Baifu Biao Zhen Qianxiang Gathering", it includes two parts: "from point to surface" showing traditional Chinese folk embroidery craftsmanship and Pan Lusheng's hand-embroidered works, and "square inch longitude and latitude" showing traditional textile craftsmanship, woodworking technology and Pan Lusheng's linear works.

Unit 2 Topfnering. Starting from the exhibit "Five Grains and Fengdeng Wind and Rain", it includes two parts: "Printing and Engraving Years" showing the traditional Chinese printing and engraving process and Pan Lusheng's New Year paintings and woodcut works, and "Porcelain Rhyme flowing" showing the traditional porcelain painting process and Pan Lusheng's porcelain plate painting works.

Unit 3 Chasing the light. The exhibition "Fuhu Town House Phoenix Laiyi" is used as an entry, which includes two parts: "The Fun of Light and Shadow" showing folk paper-cutting art, shadow puppet art and Pan Lusheng's "Shadow" series of works, and "Colorful Color" showing traditional Chinese color printed cloth and Pan Lusheng's color ink works.

3. Exhibition characteristics
(1) Fusion display, novel narrative
This exhibition mainly includes three main contents: folk art collection, folk art research, and art creation. Using the method of integrated display of folk art collections and art works, it is hoped that the audience can more intuitively feel the deep nourishment brought by traditional folk art to the creation of contemporary art, as well as the vitality and vitality brought by contemporary art creation to the inheritance and development of traditional Chinese folk art, and then show that art cannot be separated from the people, and it is necessary to go to the folk, continuously draw spiritual nutrition from folk traditional culture, strengthen cultural self-confidence, and promote the development and prosperity of socialist culture.
(2) The region is extensive and the research is in-depth
The traditional folk art collections exhibited in this exhibition involve Shandong, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Jiangsu, Henan, Hebei, Sichuan, Chongqing, Guangdong, Hubei, Tianjin, Jilin, Ningxia, Xinjiang and other regions of the country, including traditional embroidery, textile, woodcut, printing and dyeing, New Year painting, clay sculpture, paper-cutting, porcelain painting, shadow puppetry and other rich craft categories, and also show the field research, teaching, exhibition activities photos and videos of field research, teaching and exhibition activities led by Professor Pan Lusheng, the footprint maps he has walked, and the representative academic research results published. Reflecting the "go to the folk" traditional folk handicraft protection work should be nationwide, is oriented to the more vast Land of China, the Silk Road mountains and rivers, the rescue, protection and promotion of traditional folk arts and crafts, need to broaden the vision and mind, but also inseparable from cultural exchanges, integration and innovative development. This exhibition is carried out on the occasion of the Spring Festival of the Year of the Tiger in 2022, in order to let the audience better enjoy the warm and cheerful festival atmosphere, while watching the exhibition, subtly feel the beauty of traditional folk art, feel the vitality and vitality brought by traditional folk art to life, we have carried out the display of folk artworks related to "tiger" in the three main units of the exhibition. This is not only an intuitive expression of traditional folk art derived from people's lives and warming people's hearts, but also a powerful proof that the traditional folk art elements represented by the "tiger" have been renewed and continuously inherited over the long years. Whether it is actively exploring the traces of the "tiger" in the exhibition, or the unexpected encounter with the "tiger" when casually viewing the exhibition, we hope that the audience can enjoy this exhibition and spend a happy and unforgettable Spring Festival.
