According to the website of the State Administration of Market Regulation, Tesla Motors (Beijing) Co., Ltd. and Tesla (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. recently recalled some imported and domestic Model 3 and domestic Model Y electric vehicles.

The news pointed out that a few days ago, Tesla Motors (Beijing) Co., Ltd. and Tesla (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulations in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on the Administration of the Recall of Defective Automobile Products and the Implementation Measures for the Regulations on the Administration of the Recall of Defective Automobile Products, and decided to recall the following vehicles from now on.

1. Tesla Motors (Beijing) Co., Ltd

The recall is made of a portion of the imported Model 3 electric vehicles manufactured between January 12, 2019 and November 27, 2019, for a total of 35,665 units.

2. Tesla (Shanghai) Co., Ltd

The recall will be of 211256 domestic Model 3 electric vehicles produced between December 19, 2019 and June 7, 2021, and 38,599 domestic Model Y electric vehicles produced between January 1, 2021 and June 7, 2021.

It is reported that the vehicles within the scope of this recall are prone to accidentally activate the active cruise function in the following situations due to the problem of active cruise control system: when the vehicle is in D gear, the driver dials the right control lever again to try to switch gears; when the vehicle makes a sharp turn, the driver mistakenly touches and dials the right control lever. After the active cruise control is activated by mistake, if the cruise speed set by the vehicle is not the current speed, and the current speed is lower than the set speed, the vehicle will accelerate to the set speed, and the sudden increase in vehicle speed will affect the driver's expectations and lead to a misjudgment of vehicle control, which may lead to a collision of the vehicle in extreme cases, and there is a safety hazard.

Tesla Motors (Beijing) Co., Ltd. and Tesla (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. will upgrade the active cruise control software for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge through the car remote upgrade (OTA) technology, and users can complete the software upgrade without going to the store; for vehicles that cannot be recalled through the car remote upgrade (OTA) technology, Tesla Motors (Beijing) Co., Ltd. and Tesla (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. will contact relevant users through the Tesla service center to upgrade the active cruise control software for the vehicle free of charge. to eliminate security risks.
