Li Ping (pen name Li Shangping) is a native of Changyi, Shandong. He studied at Shandong Academy of Arts, Shandong Normal University, Russian State Normal University, and Russian Repin Academy of Fine Arts. He is now the Secretary-General, Professor and Master Tutor of the Aesthetic Education Committee of Shandong University, and the academic leader of the fine arts major in the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" key discipline of Culture, Art and Science in Shandong Province. He is also the vice chairman of Shandong Artists Association, the chairman of Shandong Calligraphy and Painting Art Association, the vice chairman of Hong Kong Artists Association, the deputy director of Shandong Oil Painting Art Committee, the vice president of Shandong Provincial Federation of Oriental Calligraphy and Painting, the director of Shandong Oil Painting Society, and the deputy secretary general of the European and American Returned Scholars Association Artists Alumni Association.
