However, among the princesses of Heqin, there were also those who did not marry the Xiongnu, but married to the Western Regions, and this person was the first Princess Liu Xijun in history to leave a name.
Liu Xijun was the daughter of Liu Jian, the King of Jiangdu, and she was originally a princess of Qianjin Yuye, so it was reasonable to say that it was not her turn to choose a person to be a relative. Unfortunately, in the second year of the Yuan Dynasty, his father Liu Jian committed suicide after unsuccessfully attempting to rebel, and his mother was beheaded for complicity, and only Liu Xijun survived because of his young age. But after losing her parents, she became the daughter of the clan who had no backstage at all. Therefore, in the third year of the Yuan Dynasty, Kun Mo, the king of Wusun, decided to submit to the Han Dynasty, and when he requested a marriage, Emperor Wu of Han chose Liu Xijun as a princess of Heqin.
Although Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty gave Liu Xijun special utensils and carriages and horses, and prepared hundreds of officials, eunuchs, ladies and servants, the reason why Wusun married the Han Dynasty was to use this to deter the invasion of the Xiongnu, but the Xiongnu also married a princess after learning of the marriage between Wusun and the Han Dynasty. Wusun was a small country, so the king of Wusun, Kun Mo, did not dare to offend the Han Dynasty and the Xiongnu, with Princess Xiaojun as the right lady and the Xiongnu woman as the left lady. Princess Xiaojun is in a foreign land, her husband Kun Mo is arrogant and old, and she does not know Chinese, she is full of resentment and homesickness, which can only be expressed in music and poetry. According to legend, Princess Xiaojun was proficient in musical rhythm, and the musical instrument pipa was invented by her.
Princess Xiaojun married to Wusun in the second year of her husband Kun Mo hunting arrogant death, and was succeeded by her grandson Cen Junshu Jing. According to Western custom, the new king inherited all the wives and concubines of the old king. Princess Xiaojun could not accept this, and asked Emperor Wu of Han to return to the country, saying that she did not want to marry someone else. However, Emperor Wu of Han ordered her to "destroy Hu with Wusun from her national customs", and Princess Xiaojun had to remarry Cen Qi. From beginning to end, the princess of harmony is a political pawn at the mercy of others. Princess Xiaojun lived in a foreign land for five years, passed away in sorrow and nostalgia, and she did not have the opportunity to return to the Han Dynasty before her death.
After the death of Princess Xiaojun, another Han Dynasty princess Liu Xieyou married Wusun, continuing the mission of friendship between the two countries. Princess Jieyou lived in Wusun for half a century, marrying two generations and three kings, until Wusun was in civil strife, the country was divided, and it became a small country. Princess Jieyou wrote a letter "May I return to the bones and bury the Han Dynasty", which was taken back to the Han Dynasty, when she was seventy years old.
Princess Jieyou passed away two years after returning to Han, and 18 years later, the Han Dynasty sent out a selection of relatives, and this person was known as zhaojun out of the jam. The story of Wang Zhaojun has been passed down through the ages, but how many people remember that there was once a princess who was good at playing the pipa, and she also left her hometown and was homesick to death in a foreign land?
