Jizhou kiln is one of the largest folk kiln factories in ancient China, it was first fired in the last years of the Tang Dynasty, flourished in the Song Dynasty. "There are no two identical leaves in the world, so there will be no two identical wooden leaf cups." The wooden leaf cup is a representative work of the traditional porcelain-making technique of the Jizhou kiln. As a ceramic firing process unique to ancient Jizhou kilns, the wooden leaf cup is unique and mysterious.

In 2015, Yang Li and her lover Yang Hao returned from Jingdezhen to the Jizhou kiln near their hometown to set up the Empty Mountain House Studio, re-firing the ancient porcelain of the Jizhou kiln, and picking mulberry leaves became their daily work, because the mulberry leaves are the main features of the typical porcelain wood leaf cups of the Jizhou kiln.

In addition to the mulberry leaves, in order to produce a unique wooden leaf cup, Yang Li and his wife searched for various leaves and grass leaves across the country, just like making specimens. Yang Li treasured the leaves she collected in the book, and now the most common local grass will be put into the porcelain blank, waiting for them will be more than 1200 degrees of heat, and the romantic combination with porcelain.
