Wang Weitian was born in 1958 in Linyi, Shandong Province, and is the 72nd generation descendant of Wang Xizhi, the "book saint" of the Jin Dynasty, and a famous contemporary Chinese calligrapher. He was the deputy director of the Preparatory Office of the University Art Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a professor of calligraphy at the Academy of Fine Arts of Linyi University.
Mr. Wang Weitian is currently a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, a professor at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, a director of the Education Calligraphy and Painting Association of the Ministry of Education (National), the vice president of the China Hanlin Academy of Calligraphy and Painting, an advisor to the National Expert Committee on Grading Standards for Young People, and the vice president of the Chinese Traditional Culture Association.
In the history of Linyi, calligraphy giants such as Wang Xizhi and Yan Zhenqing were born, and the strong history and culture have influenced and inspired Wang Weitian's calligraphy art road. The two distinct styles of calligraphy are fused into one by Mr. Wang Weitian.
Mr. Wang Weitian has loved calligraphy since childhood, and has studied the "Two Kings" style of writing carefully, he is good at grass, and he can do all kinds of things, and has been guided by Mr. Shen Peng, Wu Zhongqi, and Li Chuanying, so that he has a chest full of ideas and an extraordinary shot.
Mr. Wang is good at writing small letters and calligraphy, calligraphy works between pen and ink, wide open and large, majestic, rigid and soft, delicate and free. Later, he dabbled in Han Li and pursued a kind of vigorous and simple charm.
His words are interesting and far-reaching, ten thousand millimeters of concerted force, great and magical weather, thick and atmospheric, and contain the psychic charm of the "two kings" in the words, the wind rules are far away, deep and super-elegant, but the law is rigorous and the posture is self-sufficient.
Mr. Wang Weitian is good at writing big characters, which is playing to his strengths. The person who writes large characters is a fine tradition of Chinese calligraphy. The word "dragon" in his pen fully exudes his personality. In terms of technique, the center, the flank, the shunfeng, and the counter-forward are used together, stable, healthy, flat, dangerous, soft and strangely compatible, and there are Zhang Xu's madness, Huai Su's toppleness, Xi's wind flow, and Lu Gong's excitement in the big characters.
Mr. Wang Weitian has been working tirelessly for more than 40 years, inheriting the tradition of writing and the "second king" of the law, and receiving the rhyme of Zhang Xuhuaisu's book rhyme, and receiving the guidance of Wu Zhongqi, Shen Peng, Shang Chengzuo, Li Chuanying and other predecessors, and gradually establishing a personal style of "freshness, simplicity and integration of all bodies", integrating truth, grass, subordination and seal into one, which has attracted the attention of the book world.
Mr. Shen Peng, a famous Chinese calligrapher and honorary chairman of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, commented on Wang Weitian's calligraphy: "fresh and simple, integrating all kinds of bodies", poor changes in the pen end, rules in the square circle, for the book world attention.
Mr. Wang Weitian's calligraphy works have won the first prize or gold medal in the "Shuangshen Cup", "Xizhi Cup", "Eurasian Cup", "Lushan Cup" and "The First International Weifang Kite Festival Calligraphy and Painting Competition" sponsored by the Chinese Calligraphers Association.
